break away switch

was coming home from week long trip pulled out of park and break away hooked something pulled out and locked trailer brakes up . I plugged back in and now have no brakes on trailer and service trailer brake comes up on dash board its a 2015 3500hd trailer is 351rsts check fuse good tried un plugging trailer many times towed 120 ,miles with no brakes any ideals before tow back to jayco dealer

check the wiring at the 7 pin connector for the brakes If your pin pulled out and you don't know what caused it May be possible it damaged the wire harness

sorry Im not very good on typing it was breakaway switch that pulled out not trailer plug . I have no brakes on trailer still

I understand what you said about the breakaway pin pulling out What I was suggesting was for you to check all the wiring from the 7 pin connector to the TT in case any damage was done or any broken wires

also check the truck fuses, some have separate fuses for the trailer lights/brake power.

Something to think about. The trailer brakes will operate no mater what wire is hot or which is ground But there could be a possibility that when the breakaway switch got activated it allowed voltage to back feed to the TV and cause a problem with the TV electric brake system. I may be totally wrong about this. But something to check.


Also as stated above check for any fuse in the TV

I think that's what happened I pulled fuse on truck for 5 min put back in message gone and brakes working now not sure what happened but so far so good I will keep up dating
