Bump Out

Is it ok to leave one of your bump outs partially open? Can't extend it all the way out on one side of my driveway. It's the only way to access part of kitchen area. 5th wheel is a 2017 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS. Thanks in advance!

For a few hrs? Weeks? What sorry of mechanism is on the slide to move it out? The schwintek slides as I have heard do not like to be stopped mid way ever, I was told you press the button and don't let go until it stops, partial stops and the system losses track of where it is and the motors can hey out of sync. Old school rack and pinion I don't see an issue as long as you aren't stepping on the slide or sitting on it. Any slide partially out I wouldn't leave like that for long periods of time for weather reasons and maybe bugs.

If it's a Schwintek slide - NO! The Schwintek motors count revolutions and stopping before fully extending or retracting can cause the timing to get off which can cause binding.

Boy I sure hope so because I leave mine out approximately 1/2 way all the time, albeit usually for a just an hour or two at time, for the same reason (I can't to the back of my camper unless the slide is out at least 1')

I find that if I partially open it, and then close, it teters (rocks) so I always make sure I open all the way.

Force, I have the same issue, so my fix is to have the DW climb over it all. LOL

I can't get under the center island or lower kitchen cabinets unless I do so.

On my unit the first thing I do is open dinning slide half way. This gives me access to than look at that slide sides and the kitchen slide sides. When I know nothing has moved, opened or fell to the floor I than open the dinning slide fully and than the other two schwintec slides without stopping. My last tt a cabinet door opened and the slide caught it and ripped it off the hinges.

I have a cabinet door on order as we speak. It is the door under the stove that sits against the center island when closed up. Last time we opened up, it had popped open, catching against the opposite cabinet. It sprung the springs and cracked the door. Has to be replaced. I always try to check when opening and closing, but missed that one down low in the dark.
