Cable TV not working

Trying to get cable tv working at the campground. Not having to much luck. I screwed a coax into the campground cable outlet then screwed the other end into the cable outlet on my 377 Jayco 5th wheel. Went to tv, switched from antenna to cable and ran a channel scan and only got 5 channels when there should be over 60. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you have the antenna amplifier turned off?

Some campgrounds have changed over to DIGITAL TV... Perhaps you have an older TV set that only picks up analog TV... When you did the scan which did it pick up Digital or ANALOG...

Thanks for the replies. Antenna amp was on and tv takes digital and analog channels.

Does it sound like I hooked it up the right way or does something else need to be done?

If you are plugged into cable you need to shut your antenna amp off

Turning the amp off is all that is needed.
Had the same issue last week at KOA.

Amp is only needed for over Air antenna.

Here is a neat pictorial showing the setup...

I had to install one of those TV Panels in my POPUP to make my BATWING antenna setup work... That was the first thing that happened to me on first trip... NO CABLE TV.... My panel is not in plain view so I didn't think to notice if the RED LED light was on or not...

I use the OTA Antenna when camping off grid and then I installed a CABLE TV receptacle on the side wall for when we are at camp grounds...
