Ceiling Fan issues

Anyone else have their ceiling fan just crap out? It was running the other day and when I went back in later during the day AFTER we had a power outage in the neighborhood, it just quit.

Its not identified on any of the fuse terminals or circuit breakers, which I believe the breakers would control it as it has to be 110 if I'm not mistaken?

I'm hoping its a simple fix because I don't want to have to tow it to the dealer for this one thing.

If it's a Fantastic Fan, they have a fuse up in the fan area. Not sure though if ALL that name brand has fuses, Although my fan did. Hope this helps.

If it's a vent fan its most likely 12v. Only the AC unit fan will be 110.

Check your GFI as I recall mines hooked to the ceiling fan & light

If you are talking about the ceiling fan and not the vent fan you are correct, it is 120v. I leave mine on 100% of the time. Pushing air up in the winter and down in the summer. After approx 3 years service it just quit. I never liked that original fan anyway and even on high it didn't move much air. I replaced it with a larger 52" fan that moves serious air on high, but run it on low again 100% of the time. Much better fan than the original and it is remote control too.

Yes I had to buy it vs warranty, but much better product.

We run ours like that too and when it expires, I plan to go the same route. My concern is clearance when the opposing slides are in. Since our rigs are the same, did that present any concerns or problems? Looking at mine, it will be close.

You r right that they hardly push air. Plan on changing mine just for that issue. Since u already did yours is it a standard mount and was the old fan super light weight?

Thanks Campingbuds and Edd505!

The GFCI outlet was the culprit! THANKS AGAIN! I would have hated to tow it 3 hours to have them push a button!

Those who have tripped the GFI with a power outage do u use a progressive electric protector? If not u should add one to protect all your electronics

I had the same thing happen. Fan wouldn't run and it was the GFI. After travelling to Table Rock lake at Indian Point Mo. the fan would not run again. First thing I did was check the GFI and it was not tripped. After looking at the fan I found the problem. l-70 thru Richmond In. and then again in Indianapolis are so rough that the chain on the fan had wrapped around 1 blade twice and another blade once. I believe those 2 sections of highway could shake the Wallpapper off the wall. After getting back home I also reinforced the adjustable shelves in the pantry. They were sagging pretty good. Now they are much stronger and laying flat.

I have had that happen but not stop it. Get all set up turn on fan an a big boom noise where chain went around one blade than pulled off an snaked another. Now I try and remember to check first. Why not have a speed control next to the switch. U would think the people who build these would tow Em around. Hello u need to hire someone to actually use ur products and see what is good and what needs fixing. Like my kitchen sink faucet that will turn on while u r towing. Who would ever put a kitchen lever faucet that is off when up but on when down. Hello Jayco. Even if u turn the water pump off when towing u still get a quart of water on the counter and floor. I tie wrap or tape everytime we tow.

Yeah, I believe I'm going to replace those shelves with some 3/4 plywood when I get the chance!

I would have the dealer check that faucet. We have an eagle not pinnacle, but our faucet is off in the down position and on when lifted.

I added a 1 1/2" strip of wood to the bottom middle of each moveable shelf. I glued, pin nailed and screwed it to the bottom of the shelves. This took the sag out of the shelves and added minimal weight to the shelves.

Could be that your cartridge us in backwards. Remove the handle and pull the cartridge...turn it 180 degrees and reassemble. The handle will be up for on and down when off now. If hot and cold are backwards after turning the cartridge reverse the hose connections under the counter.
Just an idea.

Dahhhh. Why did I not think of trying that. My house kitchen faucet has a groove and you can only put it in one way but I will look at this one. It was discussed at length on the FBTS thread. Someone left the water on and towing the faucet turned on an flooded the FW. I will do that after my trip. With my luck something would break just before I leave. I did look at a new designer and that one is on in the up position

I know what you mean about fixing stuff before a trip.
Most faucet bodies have a slot or groove to align the cartridge but with the cheap offshore stuff they use in RV's anything us possible. First thing I did when I brought home my new 321 a month ago was replace the kitchen and bathroom faucets with real stuff. I couldn't believe how crappy both of the "factory" faucets were.
Good luck and safe travels!
