Cleaning the roof and waxing

Just wondering what should I be using to clean and or treat the roof on our 2016 pinnacle, and also can anyone recommend a good wax to use . Something that will go on and come off easy.

Spic & Span is all you need for the roof along with a stiff brush.

I use different stuff on the roof but overall X2 what grumpy said. Safest to use. On the wax, take your pick. You'll get way too many opinions. I use Mary Moppins Advantage, or something by Meguiars.

I use Meguires boat wax. Just washed my TT and noticed the water still beads from last years waxing. Will do it again but seems that works great for me, my 2013 Eagle looks better that when we bought it. Not easy wax to take off but can't afford pole building to keep it in. I do use Aero 303 on the slide seals, and Protect All on everything else and the in between waxing.

As far as the roof, im not so sure about using stiff bristle brushes, at least on the crap they put on my roof. I use dish detergent and soft truck brush. What stains are there, stay there.

I'm not sure much can be done to prolong the life of a rubber roof. I have seen people with rubber roofs that have never been touched with anything to do with "clean" and they lasted 10-15 years or more. Some of them were black with whatever that is and even had moss growing on them and they still seemed to work. I tried to clean my roof a couple of times a year with some detergent and a soft brush and after 5 years the roof membrane started to leak through the membrane where the a/c's dripped. This was happening at both a/c's. So I replaced the roof with something more permanent in my opinion. rvroof.com was my solution. Not cheap, but no more worries about the rubber roof or caulking. And it was no more expensive than replacing the rubber roof that had failed.

x 2 for Spic and span, granular if you can find it. I use a car brush as I have personally found it to be better with removal and easier on the seals. The soap does most of the work. Have yet to use a preservative on it.

As for wax I have gone through a few over the years between boats and now RV's. I have always found the synthetics to be the longest lasting and easiest on and off. I am currently using Meguire's Ultimate 2.0 paste with very good results. My brown cap is still shining from last years application. I can wipe the black streaks off with my finger.

Collinite 845 is another highly praised product that I might experiment with.
