CO2/LP Detector Alarm Keeps Going Off

The LP Gas alarm keeps going off on our MTI combination detector. We don't even have the LP Gas turned on. I can reset it and the light turns green on the CO2 then about 2 hours later the LP Gas alarm goes off and the light turns red again.

Anyone know what causes this? Is it time to replace the detector?

You don't have a CO2 detector. The carbon monoxide detector (CO) could be telling you there is a dangerous, odorless gas inside your unit, or the LP detector could be advising you of a propane leak you aren't aware of. There is the chance it's faulty, yes. I would verify the environmental conditions inside your coach by buying a plug in LP/CO detector that runs on both AC and 9V battery power. I have one in my basement with a digital readout of PPM of both gasses. I always like having a backup or something to crosscheck.

Remove it and check the date. It's likely needs to be replaced.

Our regular smoke alarm on the ceiling would randomly go off when nothing was the cause. Tried changing batteries but it was still nuts. I removed it and replaced it with a Kidde smoke and CO detector combo and now I trust it. The stock one is garbage. Our main CO/LP detector hasn't gone off yet.

They are prone for going bad. Yes they actually have a replace by date too. If the date is good, it pull the fuse/power to it for a bit and see if rebooting it solves the issue.

Had the same thing happen on a RV that was less than 3 yrs old. Replaced it and moved on. They do go bad even before they should.
