Coleman heat pump not working

Came home tonight and the heat pump won't come on. The furnace comes right on in either the gas or electric heat mode. It's 42deg outside and was working fine last evening.

Checked the breakers. Fine. Warmed up the camper and switched it to a/c and it cooled fine. The fan comes on when I switch it on by itself.

I set the temp 1 degree higher than the current reading so that shouldn't turn on the furnace.

Any thoughts?

Missed your last sentence sounds like a bad thermostat.

Temp outside might be too low for the heat pump to work.

It's working now. Not sure. The wife was home first and the furnace was running. Experience tells me it was cold she hit the button to increase the temp 25 times and caused some sort of malfunction....I'll keep an eye on it

If it does this again pull the cover off of the thermostat and you should see a glass fuse like used in older cars. Pull this fuse for about 30 seconds and the circuit board should reset and start working. Hope this works. I've had to do it several times. Happy Trails!

The coleman heat pumps we've had in the past would do that. Furnace kicks on to bring up the temp then heat pump takes over. I really don't think anything is wrong with it. If in fact your wife did hit the t-stat setting up that much, more than likely this is what happened.
