Disc brake install complete- WOW what a difference!
Well, we bit the bullet and had a disc brake conversion done on our Pinnacle FBTS. The job was done in our driveway by an installer from Performance Trailer Brakes. I had them do it as I was not comfortable doing it myself. All I can say is- for those of you that are tired of poor braking performance on these big heavy units this is definitely the way to go! The ease at which we stop now is almost unbelievable! It is very easy to lock up the wheels so you have to get your controller set accordingly but once it's dialed in the stopping power is incredible. Worth every penny 1

Sounds like a great mod. What was the total cost for the conversation?

Awesome! I'm gonna have to start saving my money like Tom. Maybe Jasum will let me have someone install for me?? Heck, maybe Jasum will do the install while I drink beer!

LOL...I guess Johnny T. came to you after he left my house! He did mine Sunday and was heading to "Endicott"?...Or someplace up there......Anyway....No question about it....,Worth every penny. I didn't even get to tow much with the stock set-up but the difference is night and day. Depending on what you order it was $2750 for a dual axle.

Where did he mount the electric/Hyde pump at? All I have upfront is the top shelf since generator and fuel tank take up the rest.

Fishermanbb- yes he came to do ours after you and then went to Endicott (near Binghamton) cost was same-$2750. He had to come back and exchange the pump as it wasn't coming on when breakaway switch was pulled but everything is good now! Rock, he mounted the pump inside the small furthest front compartment on the curb side of the unit. I also have a spare LP tank mounted in there but didn't affect mounting at all. I also got the Never Fail spring shackle kit from them and will install myself. We had one original shackle bolt break already!

Fingerlakes
Good info thanks. That really is not a bad price. Pricing all the parts with no labor is about 2k.
When did u have a shakel bolt break. I assume u have the wet bolts like came on mine. Looking at mine it appears I can see a brass bushing under one of the lock nuts. Hope they are all brass. When I get to the factory I want them to take apart the suspension and find and fix the occasional tire rub.

Rock- The bolt broke on the trip home from Florida. They were all there when we left as I greased them before starting out. The inserts are brass but the new Never-Fail are a plastic embedded with graphite or some type of lubricant. The new shackle straps are 1/2 inch thick, much thicker than the original ones.

No, we were lucky there. Luckily the end of the spring stayed in the bracket that is welded to the frame and didn't really damage anything.
