Does this sound like a good deal

We are looking at our first RV and fell in love with the Pinnacle 36RSQS. List price is $96,000 and we got a price of $72,000. It has the Summit package, Luxury package, Customer Value package, 2nd AC, 2nd power awning, all slideouts have awnings, and it has an Onan generator already installed from the factory.

Sound like a good deal?

Go to rvdirect.com and configure a Pinnacle exactly the way you want in (or with the same configuration as the one you're looking at). See what the quote is that they return... that will tell you if $72k is a good deal. To me, it sounds high by about $8-10k but perhaps I am off.

A good deal to me would be in the neighborhood of $67000. A GREAT DEAL (to me) would be in the $63000 to $64000 range so that is where I would start. When I "deal" I never stop asking until they finally say no and let me walk away. I can always come back . Even when I make the deal I always ask if they can throw one more thing in (a better sewer hose, surge protector, etc.)

Thanks for the replies. I did a quick request via my smartphone with rvdirect and it came in about $12,000 lower. Ill have to sit down when I get a chance and list every item right down to the carpet to get the exact price.

One thing you will have to give some thought on, is our dollar is only worth 80 cents this spring, you are in Ontario I hope, lol, so that alone is a 20% increase on the US buck as of late. If you can travel down and pick the unit up from these dealers, pay that fuel, duty fees, there defiantly is a savings. For me being as far away as we are, not enough savings for the trip, in my opinion. I have a local dealer, that has went to plate with some warranty work within a couple weeks, that's worth something too, just my opinion. So at the end of the day, you decide if it's a good deal. I have the same unit basically 36REQS, with same options except the generator, was able to get a nice tandem 6V battery setup included. The units are not cheap, but worth every penny of mine so far. Cheers

Find all the dealers in your area (or as far as you're willing to go) who carry the model you want - email them all saying you're looking to purchase one in the next week or so and ask them what their best offer is. Then go back to your local place and see if they'll at least match if not beat it!
