Dometic Awning with LED light strip

My light strip became wavy while under warranty. Dometic authorized replacement and advised my dealer that they had changed the material used and it would not happen again. Well guess what. While still under warranty it happened again. Dometic position is they will only pay for correction once. Pretty lousy huh.

What was the problem? You say wavy? Was the strip coming off the RV?

No not coming off but it was no longer straight. It became wavy/rippled. It was part of the awning track, but lost its nice straight line and looked bad.

Awning LED lighting strip

Same thing happened to both my awnings, Dometic will replace Jayco no help, no guarantee will not happen again, on your own after that, very poor and cheap design. Next time this happens I will use a aluminum channel to mount the LED ribbon in.

My dealer removed it and re-installed it under the channel with double sided 3M tape. I saw a Jayco travel trailer who's dealer did the same thing and it did hold up.

Kudos to Dometic. I wrote to them directly and they are reimbursing me. So much for the dealer.
