Eagle 313RKS

Hi all, this is my first post here and hopefully not my last.

We are planning on retirement soon, the next year or two and looking for a life style change, full-time RVing.

We have had in the past 2 Jayco pop-ups, and a light Jayco travel trailer and now we have a 2003 Titanium 5th wheeler.

We are in the planning stages of purchasing a new fifth wheel and I'm looking for some advice and/or opinions. We like the looks and size of the Jayco Eagle 313RKS.

After reading a lot of the post on here, I'm concerned with the squeaks in the floor that some are having. Where we plan on buying new, we'll get a warranty and Jayco was good to us in the past and all units have some bugs but this seems to be a long running problem.

My big question is: has Jayco fixed the problem at the factory yet or are they fixing them as people complain?

Also, does the Pinnacle have the squeaky floor problem?

Can't comment on the Pinnacle, but my new Designer doesn't have the squeak or I haven't stepped on it yet. I am FT and have been in my Designer since mid August.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry but can't say if the squeak problems have been addressed though I feel sure if not Jayco is working on it. As for the Pinnacles, the ones I've been in were really nice and don't recall any having floor issues, in fact the wife wants us to look into a new one rather than the Eagle I was planning on, we'll see....

Hang in there, I'm sure someone will post a reply that'll answer your questions soon as this group is pretty much on the ball.

No floor squeaks in our Jayco 5W! I was unaware of this being problematic in Jayco products.

Good luck with going full-time. I retire at the end of this school year but don't see full-timing in my immediate future...yet!

Just completed our third season with our Eagle and no floor issues to speak of. We make seven trips a season and the unit has lived up to expectations.

Hi AlCorr and belated welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum! Our tt did not have a squeek in the floor until our recent trip (it was less than a year old when we noticed it). It developed just in front of the refridgerator (mid-trailer). It's an area of about a foot diameter. We haven't contacted our dealer yet, but plan to take it down for some warranty issues in Dec. Will post what happens after we have it fixed. Even with the warranty issues, we have been pretty pleased with the Jayco. Let us know what you do and if you get the new Jayco 5'er. Happy shopping!

Have owned the 313RKS for one year with no squeaks in the floor but did have problems with under powered front jacks and unconnected septic valves. Jayco took care of both

We have one of these units and are very satisfied with it. BUT we do have a squeaky floor in front of the refrig. It is irritating but not bad enough to get me to take the belly cover down to fix it yet.

I am not familar with the floor plan you are looking at but we have 31 ft Designer and stay out 1/3 to 1/2 the year. If I were full timing I would want three slides (we have 2), a little longer unit and a washer/dryer for the honey. A desk/office area for the computer/printer and filing for the business stuff would also be a must.

However, I would not want a unit that is too big/heavy for a 350/3500 to tow.

I traded in my 2007 313RKS recently. We really liked it and had very little problems with it. We only upgraded because the deal was too good to pass up. We did have the floor in the front beafed up because of sqeaks but after it was fixed no issues.
