Eagle fiver 313RKS design flaw?

Just took delivery of my new 2011 Eagle 313RKS. I latched my entry door and then tried to open the basement door, turns out it is about an inch to close together to do it. Does anyone else have this issue? Why would there be power for a TV in the basement if you can't keep the door latched at the same time as your front door for easy access?
Love to hear from other 313RKS owners.

We have the EXACT SAME ISSUE with the basement v. main door on our 2011 365BHS VERY irritating - it's off by LESS THAN 1/2"! SERIOUS design flaw that I hope they address in 2012 designs.

Had the exact issue on my 2011 365BHS. Just replaced the door latch with a 6" latch and both can be open at once. I used the 3" old latch and catch on the opposite door of my basement which had none.

Your dealer may do it for you.

Good Day Retiredmacs, We dealt with the same issue on our previous 5er, a 36' Holiday Rambler. The problem can be solved with an extension latch. The door won't lay directly back against the camper but it will latch and provide access to your basement compartment. We fussed over this for a few years until, while camping, saw a camper exactly like ours with the door latched and the basement compartment door up. We're like..."what the..." SO after a friendly "camper conversation" we replaced ours immediately. Hope this helps. Happy Trails... We're now the proud parents of a Jayco Eagle Superlite!

Thank you so much for the great solution. We are picking up a new 6inch latch today.

This is the kind of stuff that the Jayco team should jump on and fix all future units going down the assembly line starting next week.
