Exhaust vent covers
I am a newbie and would like your opinion on whether I should purchase exhaust fan covers for my 5ver. TIA

If you mean 'roof vent covers', I'd say 'yes.'
I plan to buy and install them myself on my new TT. I believe it's going to be an easy DIY project and I thought the dealer wanted too much to do it for me.

IIRC you have a PINNACLE. I would not install one on the FANTASTIC FAN since it has the rain sensor and will close if it starts raining. On the bathroom fan I say yes.

I have them on both my roof vents and they are great and easy to DIY. If you have a rain sensor, it only negates the need for a rain sensor.

I agree it negates the rain sensor, but the PINNACLE comes with it so a cover is not really needed. Also this is why I said "NO" for the FANTASTIC FAN as these covers will cost you more money.
"Fan-Tastic Vent recommends using only UltraBreeze Vent Covers for your Fan-Tastic Vent. UltraBreeze VentCovers allow up to 100% airflow. The use of other vent covers greatly restricts airflow (by up to 75%), causing accumulation of dust and increased sound levels."

I have max air 2. They are nice to have as I open them in the spring and they stay open all summer. Good ventilation while traveling and some heat exhaust when in storage.

We installed vent covers on both of our exhaust vents fans.
1- we can leave them open and not worry about the rain senser
2- no sun damage, no hail damage
3- we winter camp to no snow or ice so we can open them
Water heater and furnace screens also so mud dobbers and wasp can't build build nest in those areas

If you have automatic open/close vents make sure you use a cover that is tall enough to let them open fully. I use the smoke Max Airs but I have manual open vents. I wouldn't own a camper without them.

Being able to open the roof vents in the rain when you have an RV full of people is nice but like the "ole Grump" has said you have to use the proper cover or it will negate the effectiveness of the Fantastic Fan

I have put them on every unit I owned, primarily for wind, we like to run our fans a lot can use them anytime, bought the cover made for the fantastic fans

I strongly recommend vent covers. I have the max air 2. I leave the vent open all year. Easy to install. It takes longer to get the tools ready, and read the instructions, then to install them.
