Maybe it is just the luck of the draw. Sounds like it is time for a class action suit. If it was one of the auto makers some one would have already file one.

Great idea and I already have an attorney, wonder how many others might be interested.

Would be hard to win in your case:

Each Jayco is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser for twenty-four (24) months or twenty-four thousand (24,000) miles (mileage limitation applies to motorized products only), whichever occurs first, from the original date of purchase.

Auto manufacturers have been know to do the same thing. Sometimes they cover an item once past the warranty period for one person and not another.

I had the same problem with the front cap on my 2013 RKTS. Jayco is covering the repaint & decals. However, the sides are fading as well and Jayco will NOT cover painting the sides. The warranty person said, "Jayco does not warranty paint fading on their trailers." They recommended having it buffed out, but they would not pay for it. Seems to me that buffing would just degrade the gel-coat & not solve the fading problem. I had a UV protectant put on the unit by the dealer at purchase & am now in discussion with that company to see if they will do anything. I'll think long & hard before buying another brown unit & I am certainly disappointed in Jayco.

Fading 5 'er cap

Just checked after reading these post & yes my 2013 31.5 RLTS has began the fading mentioned on the top of the cap and just starting to be able to see it spread to the front!!! Purchased ours new in Nov. 2013 so should be covered and will update if there is any problems but not expecting any as Jayco sounds as if their stepping up to the plate even on ones past the 2 year period!!!

Well, great...

I just got my roof cleaned and treated and the entire camper washed at the dealership. With everything now clean, I can see the oxidation on my front cap. My warranty expired six days ago. I guess I'll be calling Jayco this week to see what they say.

So far so good on my 2014 33.5RETS. Just had it washed and waxed and the front cap and everywhere else for that matter looks great. I hope I don't have the problem. I did just put up a 20 X 41 foot Rv shelter so hopefully that helps also.

Sledgehammer- my 2013 purchased in Nov. 13 didn't look like it on the front but got up on top and sure enough it was already turning white on the top which would eventually spread op the front!!!

is this right?

just brought my eagle in to have the front cap re-painted. when I stated I wanted the color of the cap to match the sides of the trailer the service guy said when I got rock chips in the cap the old brown color would show through. what??
I was under the impression the cap was sanded down to the fiberglass. am I wrong on this? what the paint shop is doing is scuffing the cap and then repainting it. am I wrong on this and all the caps were just lightly sanded and the brown was just painted over?

Hi. Did you have the cap painted due to fading or fading and spider cracks

Contact JAYCO support@jayco.com and tell them that they are just going to paint over the oxidized Gel coat. I was one of the first ones that had the front cap repainted (same color as the sides) and they were instructed to sand the Gel-coat down to the fiber glass (as they did). Also told me that the oxidizing will pass through the paint if the Gel coat is not removed. Jayco did inform me that since I opted to have the cap painted to match the side of the TT, they would not warranty the paint, no problem as the Jayco paint center said they guarantee the paint for 5 years.

I contacted support@jayco.com about the oxidation on mine a few months ago. I only got advice to buff and wax it. I've considered paying out of pocket to repaint and put on new decals, but for the cost I might as well cover the whole front in rock guard. At least I wouldn't have to worry about oxidation any more. The front takes a beating when in tow anyway, especially late evening.

thank you mustang65. that is what I recall is sanding down to fiberglass and then refinishing. we plan on keeping this trailer for awhile longer and want them to do it right.
