Ours is out of warranty. 2013 but but bought in '12. Same symptoms. I just posted in the problems forum. I bought a bottle of oxidation remover at camping world and the test area worked. Wish I had contacted Jayco last year!

There was a recent post where Jayco covered the cap painting of a just out of warranty 5th. I'd suggest you take a couple of pics and contact Jayco to see if they will step up again. They have been real responsive about this issue.

I've been watching my 2014 for fading, but nothing yet. My luck it wont show up until 2 months after the warranty is out....thankfully I still have 13 months left though.

I'm watching mine closely also but no fading yet. My warranty runs out in 6 months! It is a 2014 bought in the later part of 2013. Hope mine does not have the problem.

We bought our White Hawk 30 DSRE used even though it had only been used once it was still used and as of last month the new warranty which only follows the first buyer ran out. I emailed the big Jayco and told them my cap like a lot more had faded and ask for any assistance. I was hoping they would say if I brought it back to the big jayco they would paint for $$$. But thats not what happened at all Jayco said if I carried it to the dealer they would paint the front cap "goodwill: for me. This goes to show Jayco is a good company

My 2013 351mkts was 5 months past warranty and Jayco had the front cap repainted at no cost to me.

Anyone from Alberta or anywhere in Canada have this issue dealt with by Jayco?

My 2012 HT (the grey one) still looks decent on the front cap but it has been stored under cover for the most part, not sure it would be this good if it was outside all the time.

Likely have to repaint myself at some time down the road.

I know this pain all to well. Our front cap started fading from the top, even though we took great care using all suggested ideas, washing & waxing monthly. We just spent two months in Tampa Florida, @ Lazy Days Campground and RV Dealer having this fixed. We contacted Jayco, who acknowledged the problem (surprised) and paid Lazy Days to have the front cap repainted and new graphics applied. We were very thankful that Jayco was honest, acknowledging this issue from those units sold in 2013. All is good now.

Yep, it is a problem a lot are seeing. We purchased a 2012 White Hawk last year and by the end of summer it was fading bad. The dealer convinced Jayco to pay for the labor to have a person come in who is familiar with fiberglass buffing. They buffed it out and it looked like new a month ago. Now I can tell it is beginning to fade again. I have a suspicion that buffing is all I am going to get out of Jayco because I am not the original owner and the two year warranty is finished.

Unlike Dexter, who stepped up to replace a lot of undersized axles on the Jayco White Hawks, Jayco is apparently happy with letting their big giant billboard go down the road with serious fading. I can hear it now "your 2012, 13 or 14 Jayco is nice, wow the front cap is fading bad"

approved!!

finally got the word this evening that jayco approved repainting our front cap. next step will be scheduling work at the body shop. we will have it out for over a week coming up but than the trailer is free until labor day.(we take the little guy out for weekend trips and our glacier trip this year) hoping they can schedule it for july or august. I will go with the light color cap as well.

More than one of the service centers I contacted said once the gel coat oxidizing starts it is there until the gel coat is removed. Painting over the gel coat will it eventually bleed through the paint over time, that is why Jayco pays to have the gel coat removed down to the fiberglass.

Going with the same color (light color) as the side of the TT was the best idea. It is soooooooooo much cooler in the front bedroom now, without the dark front

Had front cap on my 2014 WHawk repainted by dealer after Jayco approved the repair under warranty. They fought this for a couple years but apparantly decided to step up to the recurring issue a year or so back. At first they were just applying a new clear coat, but when that didn't work, they went all the way.

My cap was repainted, new decals, and an auto quality clear coat applied. Looks great! Actually better than when new. Get to Jayco while still under warranty but don't jump too quickly on this. I waited until the end of our 2 year warranty even though the problem could be seen after the first few months. When I finally took it in I had a list of a few items that needed to be addressed under warranty. The dealer had the unit for a little over 2 weeks, but the key is to get Jayco to "approve" the repairs before taking the TT to the dealer. I did this by emailing pictures with a description of the problems. The dealer forwarded my email to Jayco and it took them 2 or 3 weeks to get back on all of them. The last one was agreeing to replace the large tv over the fireplace since the oem was experiencing problems with the sound cutting out. Over all I was very happy with the dealer [not where I purchased from] and with Jayco who OK'ed everything on my list.

just out of curiosity, why is it only the front cap thats fading? I have the same problem on my 2013 321rlts and am scheduled for paint next week. Also, has anybody thought about painting the inside of the door body color instead of white so it does not stick out so bad when it is open /

There was a problem with the gel coat used on the caps and JAYCO was not the only company having the issues

Well, mine looks good and it is standing in the hot Georgia sun! Waiting on the company to get my new 20 X41 metal RV shed up to park it under. Problem is, I have to stay home long enough for them to get the work done!

Hi our 2013 Pinnacle front cap has fading and spider cracks, was told to get a quote for repairs at a body shop, not sure if this is the right approch to do the repairs or should the cap be replaced?
