Heading out in the AM and I plan on getting the manual out and doing some reading. To me it's plan it's a defective part and I want to read the "warranty" closely.

Try calling Jayco customer service direct. I have done this and the results were quick when I was having a little trouble getting a dealer to resolve an issue.

The Warranty is "NON-TRANSFERABLE" as 2nd owner it excludes you automatically.

What would it cost to paint a front cap?
The warranty is non transferable, but with such a common problem on these years I would try to negotiate a least a partial payment.

Cap fading
The dealer handled the fading problem. They got the ok from Jayco to repaint both caps. I deal with Colerain RV.

Fading front and rear caps are not just Jaycos problem but they are stepping up to the plate to fix it. A friend. of mine has a Open Range that's just over 2 years old. The front cap is horrible. He was told oo bad youre out of warranty. Today I saw a Raven 5th wheel drive past, the front cap was faded bad. I'm glad Jayco stepped up and repainted mine even though it was out of warranty.

They are NOT !! stepping up to the plate. Two months later I sent an email to Jayco and one to my dealer. Jayco waited a week to ask what my dealer was doing about it. I replied that my dealer wasn't even returning my calls or email and I provided my dealer and service contacts name, no reply. Been calling service and asking for a update but no returned calls. Finally I called my dealer and just asked for service without giving my name. It was "Oh yea let me check on that" it wasn't until I quoted the service reps email that they said they would check the progress. Still Waiting.

JAYCO can't force your dealer to be customer minded. I would contact JAYCO again and ask if you can get a quote from another service provider/body shop in the area.
The problem is your dealer.

Nope, 2014 and Jayco flat said sorry NO, can't force the factory to step up!
But I can sure put a sign on the front of the Eagle pointing to the factory admitted defect they will not fix.

Did they tell you "NO" or did your dealer tell you they said "NO".
The reason for the curiosity is based on what BOBBYWIRES said, JAYCO was asking if the dealer did anything, so they obviously are willing to work on getting it corrected.
Also there are numerous posts on the FORUM about how JAYCO came forward and repainted units even out of warranty.
Just asking.

Emailed Jayco and waited, finally called Jayco and explained the issue. Couple days later got a call "This is Mike from Jayco and I am sorry we will not be able to help you with the fading issue." I am the second owner of the 2014 5'er Manufactured 10/13 but it's at most a year and a half old.

Mine is in the shop now for the cap repair, they were so used to this that it was not even a discussion, only issue I had to wait a month for the stickers and an appointment to the paint shop.

They have always been specific about warranty issues only being covered for the original owner unless it is a mandated Federal Recall. Since those caps were made by an outside company, and the fading problem was not specific to JAYCO, that's why they said no.

Might be but I have read the treads on this issue and I have no idea how many said Jayco stepped up. There is even a post with exactly the same issue I have, second owner and Jayco stepped up. It's a Jayco product and I assume they have recourse with their supplier.

Here is what I sent to Jayco and I was approved, maybe it how you say it. I didn't include the dealer with this issue untill Jayco agreed to repaint.
We have a 2013 Jayco DSRE 30ft travel trailer that has been great. The only problem we have is the front cap has faded bad. We bought it second handed form the Jayco dealer Hopes Camper in Monroe, Louisiana. Can you help us in any way since this seems to be a Jayco flaw.? The trailer was sold new in May 15 2013. The trailer has been stored inside our enclosed shop since September 2014.

I was absolutely polite in the email and on the phone; even after they said NO. I doubt anything going to change it. In another post I said I was told about a Marine product, Polyglow, that might help. Haven't gotten to the marine store yet. I'll post how it works after I do, as it appears Jayco's not going to fix them all.
