Front cap paint

I have a 36 KTPS pinnacle with full body paint. The front cap faces south and is in constant sunlight. I have washed and waxed the front cap every 3 months since I took delivery new in February 2014. In January I noticed small cra ks in the dark paint. I e-mail Jayco and they replied, take it to your local dealer. I called the local Jayco dealer and they refused to work on it since I did not buy it from them. I they also said that they do not have a paint facility. I bought the 5th wheel at an RV show and that dealer is over 100 miles away. I took it to a local RV repair facility and sent the estimate to Jayco with the above explanation. It took a couple of weeks but Jayco said go ahead with the local shop. The local shop was extrememly surprised that Jayco would take care of this paint defect. The shop owner said he is going to tell his customers about the good customer service and warranty that Jayco provides. I am glad I purchased Jayco.

Jayco seems to have been very accommodating with the front cap problems. I'm glad to hear that you are as well. its a sad situation that many dealers won't service a unit purchased elsewhere but it seems to be a fact of life. I purchased about 230 mi away because I didn't get a good feeling after visiting the showroom and their display space at an RV show. When my cap needed a re-spray I didn't even consider the local shop, bit the bullet and drug it to my dealer. Results, we're pleased.

I don't have a 5'er but my cap is starting to fade as well. Noticed it when we covered her for the winter. Could almost swear it wasn't like that when I bought it but then again, I didn't really look. May have to look into having it done if Jayco says yes.
