Generator Cost?

I have a 2011 Pinnacle 36RETS..it does have generator prep but I did not get it with the generator. Does anyone know what I should expect to spend to put a generator in it? and what size would be sufficient? I do have two A/C units.

We will be picking our new Pinnacle on Tuesday, it also has generator prep with no generator.
Not sure if we are going to put a generator in or not, intrested to see what answers you get on the forum.

I have the Designer and generator in my signature. My generator will run everything with no issues with overloading. I can't imagine having the 5'er without the generator.

Just not sure if we would need a generator, in the last 5 RVs never had a Generator, only had one time in the last 20 years I can think of we ever could have used a generator and that was during a 6 to 8 hour power outage at a State Park in Georgia.

Large 5'ers have large slides. They can move a bit slow on battery power especially at the end of a long boondock. A generator takes the concern about them not coming in at all when ready to pack up. A generator also allows the use of a 120v air compressor to keep tires topped off even leaving a boondock site.

Guess that makes sense, just never really boondocked so never had the need.
We will see how it goes with the new Pinnacle and Fulltiming before making the decision on getting a Generator.
If we do decide to get a generator then we will have to figure out what type and size to get.

Our Greyhawk came with a 4KW generator... we use it when we stop at a rest area to run the A/C in hot weather and the microwave if needed...

I a pretty sure they are Onans and with 2 A/C's you would need 5KW. I did not opt for it in mine due to having a 3K portable already which runs my needs and the larger ones one at a time. I would think it would run you about 5K + to have it installed. If you do it you will most likely want to get a stack pipe exhaust due to it's location.

If you call Jayco with your model they could proaply tell you what models will fit that they would have offered for install at the factory.
