Ground Control 3.0 Lesson

I just had my first issue with my Ground Control 3.0 so I thought I would share.

We had just returned from our weekend outing and unhitched at home. After pressing the "Auto Level" I got an error on the LR jack. I did everything I could think of. Including trying to extend all jacks at least 6". RR jack would come down but I could not get the LR jack that had the error to move at all. So I used a 5/16" socket and a drill to drop the jack down more than 6". I then tried to retract the rear. Only the RR would move. I proceeded to undo the connections at the motor and then reconnect. Same result no movement in the LR jack. I then pulled the 35A fuse for the LR and it checked out. I then pulled the motor connector from the control module (Lg Red & BlK wire) and noticed that the red wire looked like it was not inserted in the connector all the way and to the same point as the black. I pushed the red wire in to the connector to the same position as the black and pluged it back in to the control module. WALA! I now was able to retract all jacks and then "Auto Level"

This was our 7th outing and never had a problem until today. The lesson learned today is that even if the connectors looked to be plugged in there may still be a poor connection because a wire was not install in the connector all the way.

I'm so glad I was able to find this myself and thought all of you may be interested.

Their is 4 35A fuses on the Ground Control 3.0 Module. One for each motor.

Interesting, you must have a heavier duty unit than mine as my fuses are 25 amp.

Do you not have auto level now? We ordered and failed to get the option installed. Now however I am thinking 6 point hydraulic Lippert or Bigfoot. The fact that no hoses are required sounds perfect. All jacks connected to master panel. Much less to go wrong.

I have Ground Control 3, 6 point, but I like the sounds of the self contained units.

I thought it would have made it to the 2017's.
