Hey, klassic

Sorry to respond back like this but, for some reason, I couldn't reply via the private message.

It was Challenger Door on your previous unit. But, I believe Lippert is supplying entry doors now and I really don't know if that manufacturer is making the neat storm doors.

Since you can pm me, send a phone number where I can call, if you wish, to determine if I can help in any way.

That pretty much answers my question. If I had a Challenger door before, then the vinyl inserts will be made the same now.
I kept my old inserts hoping they would fit but the top is the wrong shape, and the bottom is too small....and they are white.

Did you mean CC is now using Lippert doors, or your Pinnacle has a Lippert door?
My North Point door is a Challenger.

For anyone wondering what's up with this thread, it's about the vinyl storm inserts that are available for the screen doors. That's what those tabs are for around the screen door frame.
I had them on my old Cedar Creek (came stock) they stayed in perfect shape for 7 years and it was very hard to tell that they were on, they are crystal clear.
Lets the light in, keeps the wind out, keeps the AC in, keeps the heat in on cool days, and are easily removed.
They should have came stock by Jayco, or at least have been an option.

Ken,

Have only used our Pinnacle for a month before it went into winter storage. Don't remember whose door is on it. I don't know which door CC is using now. My guess would be the Lippert door. Been retired for 5 years so, lost track of which parts are being used by CC.

Hey all
Bringing this old thread back to life. Anyone have an answer for the screen door inserts? We also had a Cedar Creek before this North Point and miss the storm door inserts. Don't know if I just want to cut lexan or not. The door is made for the inserts in a frame
Thanks
Marc

Look at the sticker on the inside edge of the screen door and see if it’s a Challenger.
Call them with the model number and they will ship it to you.
I never ended up getting them because the shipping was ridiculous to Canada

Klassic why don't you talk with your dealer and also Jayco, see if you can get them to put them inside a new trailer coming to your dealer??

They way it shouldn't cost you anything...............for the shipping.

We ordered our insert from Challenger - wasn't aware it was an option until the unit was delivered. Too bad the dealer didn't know it was an option when we ordered the unit. We went to either Lowe's or Home Depot, picked up a screen & put on the bottom for "fresh air". We have 3 cats that travel & this keeps them from scratching the screen.

Hey guys,
I did contact Challenger Door and they made the storm window inserts for the door on my 377. The current cost is $110 plus packing and shipping. They are an aluminum frame like the door and clear plastic material. They fit just like they were made for my camper.........oh yea, they were made for my camper.
Took 2 weeks and they are super good quality and look great

GREAT!!
Now you’re making me want them again.

Funny, my bottom section door is screen is right to the bottom. Just the 1” frame rail is there.

Curious, what was the packing/ shipping cost?

Hey Klassic
The shipping was $25 and the packaging was $50.
With that said, the inserts came layered in foam and cardboard that fit very snug in a wooden box built to ship the inserts and the whole box wrapped in heavy cardboard. They arrived in perfect shape and well worth the $50 to pack it like that. The total was $185 and a little spendy but so are our campers! The quality and fit of these are super and you would never know that they were ordered afterwards. They look wonderful!

That looks great! Dang it, now I need one too. How does the door latch to the screen with the insert installed? Is there a cut out?

The latch is on a fixed panel between the upper and lower section.

The insert comes in two pieces or one?

Hey Tom
Yes, there are 2 pieces that are held to the door with the factory clips that are already there(they sent a set of clips and screws along with the inserts).
As norty1 says, the fixed panel in the middle has the latch and slider

Thanks Marc

Was a little confused because looking at your picture, it seemed like the insert was a one piece, full size panel because your reflection goes thru the middle section too.

Tom.. I think I said it earlier in this thread. On my CedarCreek, I didn’t even know I had them they were so crystal clear and un distorted.
I was wondering why the DW could never hear me very good (well we all know why), then I went to press my face on the screen but it was the vinyl.

As Klassic says, these are great. Clear as glass and no distortion. They fit so good, there will not be any warm or cold air getting around them!
