Hitch height and short bed with stationary hitch.
Finally got our 2011 Eagle HT 29.5FBDS out of storage yesterday.
I took some pics showing the ride attitude with the hitch and pin box at their lowest ride height position adjustments. I measured the trailer height at the front by the legs and it is about 4" higher in front than the rear bumper. Keep in mind this is an empty trailer, empty water tanks, no gear in truck or trailer. So with gear back in the trailer, firewood and stuff in the truck, that'll bring the front down 2" and the back end up 2" to make it pretty dang close to level.
I also checked to see how close to 90° I could come before the front of the camper gets to the rear corner of the cab. Truck is a 2011 GMC standard/short bed with a stationary Pullrite hitch.
I would have to say it is a good 75°. Since I cannot see any justifiable reason to go that far around in a turn in light of the stress placed on tires, rims and axles, it is a non-issue for me.
All my previous trailers were ball hitch travel trailers and you can never go close to 90° anyhow, much less 75°. So really nothing has changed for me now that we have a 5er.
