Hitch position during un/hooking

So we sold our bumper pull and will pick up our new to us Pilgrim camper next week(I will still visit this site because of of the help and stories). I submitted a question to Curt(we have Q20 slider hitch in my Ram) and did not receive a response yet. Here it is, I watched multiple videos and read through the manual, there is nothing stating if the slider has to be forward during un/hooking. Does it matter? Thanks in advance

I have the same hitch. The slide can be in either position to hook up or unhook. Just make sure it is forward (toward the cab) when you are actually towing.
