How long for your Jayco order?

I have ordered a new 321RSTS on April 15th and expect delivery sometime in June. Just wondering how long most people really have to wait. Just curious!

Ordered our 321 on Jan 30th and took delivery on April 30. It arrived at the dealer on the 23rd and it took them a week to prep it for delivery. We were told 8-10 weeks when we ordered......turned into 13.

Ordered our 355MBQS on 03/01.
Came off the line 04/21.
Arrived at the dealer 05/05.
Pickup this Saturday 05/14!!!

Our Eagle HT 27.5 RLTS was already on order for dealer stock when we signed on the (virtual) dotted line. It is scheduled to be complete and ready to ship this Thursday May 23. Add a couple of weeks to get it here and get it prepped and we will be right around 10 weeks from our "order date."

The way it has been described to me (industry wide) is that the rv business scheduling model is drastically different then most other large item manufacturing. You order a new Chevrolet 2500 crew cab pickup it gets pretty much built in the order in which the orders are received regardless of specific model, trim package etc. The rv industry builds in batches. So for a period of time maybe last week and this week a particular line built nothing but Eagle HT 27.5 RLTS's. Depending on demand it could be a month or two before they make another run of any given model.

We've ordered twice and both times were 10 - 12 weeks from order to delivery

We ordered the 3rd week of Jan 2015 and took delivery May 12, 2015 (it arrived at the dealer the week before). Almost a 4 month wait to get it. We came real close to canceling the order and going with another TT. All in all, we are glad we waited. We love ours.

I placed an order for a 2017 355MBQS the last week of April and am being told mid to late July before it is in my driveway. That's including time to get the trailer to the West coast and giving the dealer a couple of weeks of leeway to install some dealer added options and do a complete PDI.

As I read through this forum, I see many people order their units instead of purchasing directly off the lot of a dealer. Why is this? It seems to me you would pay more. I just recently purchased a 38FLSA 2016 off the lot a save around 40% on the MRSP. I see people on this forum and others and per them it looks like they are paying close to MRSP.

Congrats on the new 38FLSA! Sounds like your a "happy camper"!

But to comment on your question, usually if someone orders vs. buying off the lot, it is because they couldn't find one on a lot with the right floor plan or didn't have the options that they weren't willing to do without. Sure, dealers can many times install and change things to your liking that didn't come "stock", but at additional cost so what's the point of saving a few bucks on the trailer only to turn around and spend it, or more, it making it the way you want it?

We are in the process of ordering a new 2017 Eagle 330RSTS. We could have bought a 2016 off the lot but none that we found even came close to having the options we wanted. And thanks to many on this board, I now "know better" in regards to what is a good deal and what isn't. I overpaid on our last trailer but won't be this time around. I already have two quotes well north of 30 percent off MSRP, which to many is a good deal already but I haven't even started dickering yet!

I ordered a 2017 White Hawk 28DSBH on 1 April and it arrived at the dealer TODAY. That's 4-6 weeks faster than they estimated when I ordered it. Picking it up next week.

Hey Chris,

It was tempting to my wife and I to buy off the lot, but they didn't have exactly what we wanted in stock. By factory ordering we got exactly the options we desired and still got 36% off MSRP. Everyone's different, but for me personally, I'd rather do that than pay a few percent less for options I really don't want or pay higher aftermarket installation costs for the factory options I really do want.

The other thing we did was order a 2017 unit at 2016 prices (right as Jayco was switching over production to the new model year). I haven't seen a 2017 price sheet yet for our trailer, but as prices go up every year, our actual savings may in fact approach 40% off of MSRP. You could never "time" this model year production switch over for a new car or truck, but with RVs it seems you can. That wasn't our intent, but luckily for us it worked out that way. It IS something I'll probably try to replicate, however, if we ever buy another new unit.

The only dealer around with an Eagle HT 27.5 RLTS was $6-7k higher for a 2016 than what we are paying for our 2017 on order. We paid pretty near full boat for a couple of upgrades we made to the unit after the fact and we are ok with that. Ours was already on order for dealer stock.

Dealers should be happy to give you the same discount on an ordered unit. They pay the same for it but they don't have to pay floor planning interest to the bank while waiting to sell it.

When I bought my Eagle HT in Feb. I went to a dealer and got a factory build sheet - picked the options I wanted, got a price from that dealer. I then faxed the filled out build sheet (without the first dealers bid) to two additional dealers.
There were thousands of dollars difference between the three bids. And no surprise who was most expensive- CW.

Getting blind bids is the only way to get the lowest price- and getting blind bids is only really possible if you order since it would be hard to find three or more dealers with exactly the same rig.

We live in TN and the dealers here couldn't come close to what we paid by ordering out of state. We'll have to drive to Indiana to pick ours up, but we're saving around 8K. I'd crawl to Alaska to save that kind of money! We ordered from Indiana RV Connection, but also looked into RV Express and RV One.
