HT hitch mount photos wanted

the plates that are off the frame were they welded on after or did the come from the factory? Looks very similar to the bolt ups I've seen on some trailers. Last question what size of bolts did you use?

I took it to a welding shop to have a custom hitch made. They first fabricated the hitch, then bolted it to the existing frame that is used for the bolt on hitches. Then they welded that hitch mount to the frame and then welded the hitch to that frame. The bolts were only used to hold the hitch in place while they welded everything else to everything else.

Last question did the add any welds to the extsing brackets were they join the frame?

You bet! The bracket that they add to the frame to bolt the hitch to is only bolted to the frame. Hence the 3000lb max tow rating. The welding shop welded that bracket to the frame and then bolted my hitch to the bracket to get the right depth. They then welded my hitch to the bracket. It sounds more complicated when I type it then what it actually is. Everything down there in essence is welded to the frame now. They did a really really good job of it and then wired me up a light connector as well.

Pretty much answers my question. I have an accessory hitch on my 2015 and was looking at the frames and hitches on a ht vs eagle and they are built the same. Do recall how many stich welds and the length there were before you welded it out?

I have towed double for past few years on my super lite with a 1200 lb seadoo behind and thinking of the same with this one just deciding if a whole change out is needed or some 1/2 gr3 bolts to the frame will beef it up enough for this load. 100# tounge wt seems a lot better off than a 300 cargo load hanging back 2.5'.
