I didn't make the first day of vacation.....
So backing into a tight spot and nobody looking up high, I crunched the cap that joins the roof to the side wall. A branch had been cut off the tree but the stump stuck out about 2 feet and we didn't spot it in time. Insurance has been called and I don't think we penetrated anything. Just a good dent in both the trailer and the ego.... 3 spotters and no one looking higher than eye level. A good reminder to all that our units are all of 14' tall.

One thing I always do as the Driver is to make a complete walk around before I start backing into a camp site. I then will tell my spotter or any others that may be with me to watch out for whatever I see could be a problem

That is one reason Jayco does not put a roof/wall seam along that area. If it were, you would likely have more damage.
I had a mishap just like that last winter when a cut off limb took a swing at me as I drove by. I was able to repair it myself.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, Al. I hope you're able to get it fixed without a lot of stress and loss of time on your vehicle. I'm going to take a lesson from your experience...

Thanks everyone. The dealer here in the Okanagan sent their mobile repair tech here this morning. Damage is all cosmetic with a 2" tear in the tin cap. Sealed it up and we were advised to just leave it until the fall. Just looks like crap.
On the flip side a big thumbs up to Voyager RV in Winfield BC (just outside Kelowna). They sent a great service guy to the campground and refused any payment for their time. They will be on my list for my next RV purchase, and they are a Jayco dealer.
