Question Installing Slide Toppers Do-It-Myself?

I'm considering installing slide toppers on my new 2016 North Point 361 REQS. I would like to install these myself and save the $1300 the dealer quoted in labor (the 4ea toppers are $1250.00 per dealer quote, so $2550.00 total). Any pitfalls I should consider doing these myself? I will probably get a quote from another dealer/camping world also. I consider myself a pretty handy guy and I have the tool to complete the job, but I know there are times it is better to pay someone else to do a job. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It's what I would call, an easy DIY, as long as you follow directions and have a helper just in case. I've installed regular awnings, toppers and window awnings with no problems.

Saw it on Ytube and looks like an easy job and yes I would do it myself ( with the help of a friend). This does not require a high level of skill.

William,
It is pretty simple to install the toppers. You want to make sure you have a scaffold or planks to work off of. Much easier than using a ladder. RV repair club and YouTube have great videos on How To install these and other projects. You want to make sure to use Dicor sealant on the screw holes prior to installing the screws for a leak free install. Hope this helps.

I would check with Jayco to see if it has any warranty impacts. Would not think so but it would be an easy way for the warranty to be voided.
