Jayco Eagle 5th wheel, check your plumbing

Just a heads up, our 2017 Jayco Eagle 325bhqs had a slow leak under the kitchen sink. When I checked it out, there was no teflon tape used for either the hot or cold hookups. Easily fixed, but something that only costs a few cents and is a standard plumbing practice should have been done by the factory at build time.

Better double check your connections for leaks.

Those threads are not supposed to have Teflon Tape since they seal using the tapered washer on the end of the supply line.

These weren't sealed worth a bleep. They are now though. I don't suspect the teflon tape will hurt anything.

Teflon is also not standard with plastic or pvc threads, he's right, that taper is supposed to seal it

Our 2017 HT 5th wheel had a leak under the kitchen sink as well. Unfortunately, we didn't notice it until a few days into our trip and it bubbled the shelf. We had a mobile repairman replaced both valves and Jayco covered the warranty cost.

I tightened ours by hand but the leak continued. I know it's not supposed to need it but the bit of teflon tape solved it. Not a drop since.

When dealership was testing just about everything before we picked it up, they found the leak under the kitchen sink. They tightened & then sprayed foam around it.

Foam? First time I've heard of that. What kind of foam, "Good Stuff" type comes to mind? Is the dealer hiding something there?

Our 23B leaked under the sink and a gentle tightening solved that one. Similar leak in the 5th surfaced around the 3 year mark. I used teflon tape on that one.

I recall hearing that the folks that do the assembly have a quota based workday. Hit the quota and the get to go home. If they can get a unit off the line any defects become someone else's problem (like the dealer or the owner).

Ours leaked too. 2017 29.5bhok

Only every now and then. First the hot then the cold.

Also hand tightened fixed it.

Check the ptrap fittings as well, they can work loose or are sometimes not tightened at factory.

I had a leak under the sink last year in my brand new jay flight. I noticed it one night when storing the dish drying rack under there. It didn't leak until we about 2 months into camping season. No teflon tape. I just tightened them up. It was fine after that. While under there I also noticed the o-ring that holds the drain to the sink was very loose. 2 or 3 full turns were required to snug it up. After that I checked and tightened every water fitting in the trailer. No further issues, but I'll be checking them all again on a regular basis this season.

They didn't tell us what type - just that they put foam around it. It was the water lines for the refer.

Found that one the hard way too.

Pots and pans stowed under the sink had drops of water on them. Tightend the P-trap. Rewashed everthing under there. Ewwww..

All fittings, bolts, nuts will get loose at some point these trailers take a beating traveling down the roads. I'm on my second Jayco. I have had to tighten plumbing, lugs on wheels, air conditioner bolts, wooden table bolts. My advice is after a trip check everything for tightness.
