You're gonna get a lot of folks who say "no problem" and some others (like me) who will say "really shouldn't". The final decision is yours. Having said that, I would like to point out that your truck will be at the maximum towing weight without anything being loaded into the fiver. Also, your pin weight will be at (or very near) the maximum allowable limit without any additional weight being placed in the fiver itself, truck or truck bed. Since you should ideally have a 15% safety margin in towing and pin weight capacities, you can see that you will be way beyond the safety level. Been there, done that and not going back

Thanks for the input. I think we will start the search for a bigger truck, even though we've only had ours for just over a year. Best to enjoy the new Eagle at the seasonal and save up some money for a diesel!!

I think you will find that you will be fine with the suspension, it is lower tow weight because of the 3.55 gears, I have a 13 f150 with 3.55 and it is rated for 7700lbs the same truck with 3.73 gears is rated for 9600lbs. Just knock it down a gear and you should be fine

X2 on the Timbrens. We also have a Ram 2010 4X4 20inch tires Quad Cab 3.55 gear ratio.
We added Timbrens and changed the tires to E rated Michelins LTX/AT2 I think (a bit over rated but I felt better with this choice) and inflate them to 50 psi.
I did not like the squishy feel of the Goodyear P tires at all.
We tow a smaller 5th wheel, the HT 23.5 and it tows great! no problems in hills, stops well, the truck does not struggle. Give it a try and then decide.
I was really nervous at first but this is our 3rd summer and I have no regrets. If I felt the truck wasn't up to the task, I would have traded it.

Boubou, we have a 2009 Ram 4x4 20" tires with a 3.55 gear ratio as well. We just bought a 2014 HT 26.5RLS. The payload is at the trucks max as well as the empty weight of the trailer. Add the family, the hitch, gear, food and supplies it surpasses the limits of the truck. The Timbrens might level the truck but do not increase the capacity at all. There is no doubt the truck has enough power to pull the camper in any situation. My reserves are the braking, and if I were to get in an accident it would be bad news. Thank you very much for your words of confidence but we shall keep saving for a bigger truck!

Hi Scott, bought the Eagle HT 27.5BHS last October CW Kingston, great bunkhouse for grand kids. Had/have 2011 F150 Eco Boost Custom Cab LB 8,200# package (2,440 MP/11,200 Tow). The Eagle came with hitch in back, I can put any rack. I could use the roof ladder for bikes. Like the LEDs under the awning. Going to get a slide awning to protect the slide roof. Saw a front cover for extra storage under the front. There's room to get around the hide-a-bed couch (comfortable for 74 incher), many models you have to climb over. If you have time to order get the Dual Glass Windows.

Have 26.5 rls pickup in Oct 2016 . I pull with 2007 chevy 1500 5.3 motor 3.73 rear with air bags set at 30 lbs. All over Ct. with ease lots of steep hills Pulls way better than old camper 07 29n Jay feather on sway on new 5th wheel . Ford F150 should pull just as good
