Center caps were extra but not expensive. I kept my Dexter easy torque nuts. Put Bridgestone Duravis 250s on her. Can't remember the size off hand but they are about two inches taller raising the fiver an inch or so.

Hi. I'm new to the forum and thought I'd share what I did when we purchased our Jayco.
My 06 Chevy Duramax was too tall for the Super Lite (bed rail clearance and being level) so I had the axles flipped. I went from 15 to 16 tires and rims. For tires I used Maxxis 235-80-16's and this rim from Discount Tires (Americas Tires) MB 72 - I hope this link comes through. If not please tell me how to include a link.

Getting the unit level was a PITA but finally got it right and it tows/tracks real nice with plenty of clearance for some of the dirt roads and hilly areas we camp in. Take care.

did you have a lift kit on your truck?
We pull with a GMC and have a Jayco Eagle Super Lite 31.5 BHDS and it doesn't look like we will need to flip the axles.

No. I put 265/75 16's tires on which are a tad taller + truck is 4x4. I had to add another leaf in the rear as my last 5er (Sundance) sprung my springs going over railroad crossing. The pin weight was around 2500# (too heavy). That made the rear an inch or so higher.
I moved the jake plates all over the place as well as the pin box and finally flipped the axles. My neighbor bought a new Ford and his bed rails are even higher than mine.

that is really weird because we have a 3500 SRW which has the extra rear leaf springs and it came with 265/75R16's

Jayco has raised the trailers and offer a 16" wheel option for 2011.

j4nash. I have a neighbor with a 2007 and yes that size was standard. I can't remember my std size for 2006 but it was skinny. I even got grief from my dealer about going to a size bigger.
renoman69. That's what Jayco needed to do because when I saw our 09 it was low and I was concerned about it. Of course, the dealer said "don't worry, we'll take care of that" !!
BTW. Your name rings a bell. Did or do you frequent the Trailer Life forum?

Jayco don't allow any custom orders for the new units. When you order you get what they put on the unit. So if it comes with 15" thats what you get.
|
They clearly have 16" aluminum wheels as an option in their 2011 brochure.
