Jayco HT update
Made the first leg of our short "shakedown" trip today with the camper. First 5'er we've had. Did 305 miles, all interstate, (I-81, I-64, I-95 South to Selma, N.C.) Can't say enough for the TV and 5w. Both performed admirably. Man, it's nice to have a vehicle that I can set the cruise on 65 and boogey on down the road. We stopped at a Luv's truck stop to take on fuel and while I was there went across the CAT scales. All weights are well within limits. Our total gross wt. was 16,560, well uder the 20k gross. The trailer weighed in at 9280 gross.Sticker weight on the trailer is 8006#, so with all stuff onboard and 25 gal of water, looks like we put added about 1274#.With gross being 9950, still have some margin there also. All in all, a good day. Those first trips with a different camper and tow vehicle make you wonder what you overlooked. So far, so good. Going to Goldsboro tomorrow for the airshow, then on to the beach on Sunday for a few days.
