Jayco purchase

Recently bought a Jayco 30.5 5th wheel havent picked it up yet, I am going next week.My question is ,it hasnt been towed in about a year and should I have concerns about checking the wheel bearings and the brakes. The couple that I've bought it from have maintained it well and its only 50 miles from my house should I tow it home or should I take the hubs off.

Check the tires closely for any cracks and make sure they are filled to the correct air pressure. You do not mention the year of the trailer so the tires might need to be replaced due to age and sitting around. Drive slowly and test the brakes before hitting the highway.

If the unit has sat a lot since new and it's over two years old I'd buy new tires and have the bearings pulled, inspected, and lubed. Congrats too!

Got it home today without any problems was looking at the tires they are Goodyear marathon (3) and one is a odd ball tire. The 3 Goodyear tires had a DOT 2VHH MLHR but no numbers and the load rating is D, read where the date might be on the inside of the tire I will look later.Dont know about these tires !

Everyone will tell you to get rid of those tires. I'm sure Someone will find me in a smoking wreckage between here and Arizona soon as the unit I'm traveling with has that same model tire on it and I'm going to go with them. :fingerscross:
