Jensen upgrade to True Surround Sound

Has anybody upgraded their Jensen unit to a True Surround System?

Our previous 05 Eagle 5th Wheel came with a nice sounding 5.1 Surround Sound system, Wife is asking me can we upgrade our Pinnacle to a better system that has true Surround Sound with a better quality sound.

Any done this or got any ideas on how to do it.

Robert

Just thinking out louad, easiest way would be one of the wireless speaker surround sound units.
We have played 1 DVD (what else,RV with Robin Williams:hihi on our Jennsen system. It sounded pretty good as DVD sound comes out a lot of speakers that the TV and Radio do not use.

I don't know if anyone is manufacturing a 12V 5.1 Dolby SS unit any longer? But if you want to add something aftermarket for use while hooked up then I would second the wireless home type unit. Don't hardwire one in to use the existing speakers as they are rated for 4OHMS where 120V is 8OHMS and you will ruin them.

Wireless systems should be fairly inexpensive and give you what you need while watching your TV. Probaly easiest to get one with the DVD/Blu ray player already in it that way you only have to wire from your TV audio out to the unit for full operation.

I purchased a Samsung sound bar which mounted on top of the stock 40" TV. It came with a wireless subwoofer which I placed under the desk chair. Although it is not true surround sound, it sounds MUCH better than the TV speakers. It has it's own digital amplifier, with a pseudo-surround mode which is good for movies. The TV in our Pinnacle disappears into the entertainment center, and the sound bar disappears with it. The whole thing looks like a stock installation.
