Does it have a remote control or a keypad. I looked at this http://rvlock.com/, but I would still have to carry something in my pockets. I would really love a keypad so I could leave and swim or whatever and not have to carry around my keys.

Did the keyless entry come on the fifth wheel or was it an add on? Just wondering if they are available for an add on? If so what brand is a good one to get??

The keyless entry was a Jayco option that we added from the factory. It is a keypad on the door. It is especially easy for the kids to use and we don't have to worry about the kids losing the key. It is SO handy.

Oh - I so want that! Wonder if they offer it as an after market?

Are you able to program in your own combination or are you stuck with what the factory gives you?

Is it battery operated? If so, is there something to indicate the state of charge on the battery/batteries?

Yes - you can program it with any code you want.
Hmmmm - I guess it's battery operated, however, that never crossed my mind. There 's no battery indicator, though. I'll look in the operating instructions and let you know.

You can have 5 different codes.

It gets power from a contact on the hinge side of the door, when it is closed.

Is that the only lock or can you also use a key?

The keyless pad locks/unlocks the deadbolt, and there is another lock on the handle.

The key will open both.

We are ordering our Pinnacle LKTS tomorrow and the Salesman told us that the keyless entry is standard on the 2012 Models. I'm always looking for my keys, now if I can remember the combo. Hmmmm Memory might have me in a tight spot in both of these cases, "keys??? Combinations???? Hmmmm L.O.L. They have also made a couple of other changes. No more stainless sinks, now some type of ironstone composit, Central vac has the sweep feature whereas you can touch something with your foot and it opens a door and you can sweep dirt into it. There's changes but forget what they are, I remember, battery disconnect switch.

I looked at one in person Saturday. Interesting design - I figured it was like most keyless entries where it had a little battery inside the door - but no - there are two contacts that come together when you close the door that apparently provide it power. In fact, the door itself was manufactured by a company specific for that purpose - why didn't I write down the name of it!

Overall - looked pretty neat.

I always write things down. At my age, my memory, which was never great, is shot. What were we talking about? Oh, yeah. I also always have a camera with me in my purse or pocket and I take pictures of everything, even labels. It serves as a great portable scanner. If I know I'm going to take pictures, I also take my big camera and external flash with me.
