Landing Gear Maintenance and Spare Parts

I was parked next to another fifth wheel a couple of weeks ago when his landing gear jacks stopped working. In his case, the landing leg gear stripped out. But that got me thinking about two things: maintenance of the landing gears and carrying spare parts, like motor, landing gear replacement kit, etc. So, just wondering what any of you do regarding both maintenance and carrying spare parts?

I don't carry spare parts for my "landing gear". I do however, carry the tools necessary to manually adjust the gear or to remove completely if need be.

The one component specific to your fiver may be the landing gear leg itself. That would be the spare to carry. The gearbox and motor are more generic and may be carried by a mobile repair service. Otherwise, spares of those items as well if you are going to Alaska. I am thinking about a preemptive replacement prior to the next long trip. If you keep your fiver long enough, the landing gear will fail.
