Led lights

I want to install some LED lights under the awning with adhesive to the camper,
My question is, what is the best way to hook the lights electrical, I know you need a transformer and 110v. But does the electrical stay hook up to the strip. Is the transformer mounted to the camper and stays on and just pulu and unplug the 110volts,.

Most LED lights lend themselves to 12V power. Most use that transformer to convert the 110V AC to 12V DC. Why not just use the 12 V already available in the camper? That's the way I did it.

Ditto on just running them on 12V. There are some nice dimmers out there.


Follow the awning's electrical feed to avoid putting fresh holes in the side of your camper.

Lots of ways to get power to the strip of lights. Some people just mount the lights and then in camp use a quick connect and run a cord down to a cargo hold or another spot, just have to make the final connection at camp each trip. I have heard of one person running a wire up from the outside light to the LED strip light and used something called plug mold to cover the wires. Another option if you have an electric awning is to follow the electric awning motor wires back to the TT wall, and if possible pull another set of wires back through the hole and wire it up to a switch.
