Linc Control for Generator

OK, So I was playing around with my remote changing the labels so they make a little more sense, to me anyways. Ran across a generator label/icon on the remote and thought why not use one of the spare outputs on the receiver/controller to have control my gen with the remote. Would be nice to fire up the gen while driving down the road to cool camper down prior to arriving at campground.

So I go out today and try to "turn on" one of the spare outputs but not luck. Found some info on Lippert website on remote & controller, followed what I believe to be the instructions and still was not able to get either spare output to click or have any voltage on the oupt for that matter. Anyone out there ever successfully re-purpose a spare output on the controller?

You may need a different board. The generator is three wire start.

Did you hook a load to the terminals? The board may be load sensitive. Meaning it won't function unless it sees a load across the terminals.

Thanks for feedback Earl. Ya thought about adding some small load, will give that a try this afternoon to see it it will work.
Based on gen wiring its momentary ground closure for stop/prime & start, so likely need a couple relays to use a single output on the controller

Update: Good news was my unit (late 2016 model) was built with the latest MyRV control board that is used with the new tablet based systems. This means I can add the genie CAN module, myrv Wifi/Bluetooth kit and the tablet......Bad news is the price tag, nearly $800 for all three. So I will pass on that option and continue to look for a lower cost solution.

My 2017 has the Myrv system. It has a fixed wall mounted touch panel. You can use an app on a phone or tablet as the remote. The earlier models came with the Linc remote. Mine didn't. It has WiFi that I use my phone with as a remote.
