Lubricant for pin
What are you good folks using to lube the pin and/or the jaws of the hitch? I expect something dry might be best. We pick up the new '13 351 RLTS on Sat and it seems there are an endless number of things to do. We may have to watch "The Long Long Trailer" again as part of the prep.

Redhorse, cannot help with the hitch pin, but congratulations on the new 5vr. I wish Jayco made a small 5vr with a very similar floor plan as the 23B.

Thanks Jag. We're gonna miss the 23B to be sure. Lets see, I'm gettin a 5er that's 500% longer but has 50% of the bedrooms. I guess that's an improvement

I use a white lube or fluid film on the jaws. Also have a poly disc on the pin for that.
good luck

Poly disc on the pin. White lithium grease on the jaws and other moving parts.

Pullrite super glide suggests only WD40. I ordered the lube plate for the pin anyway.

I use a white poly disc on the pin, and TriFlow (telfon) spray on the jaws and other moving parts of the hitch. I can't get the white lube into all the needed places, but the teflon spray gets in there just fine.

The use of the poly pad is exactly what is supposed to be used, as far as the locking jaws, a silicone/teflon spray would keep a film on the pin and if grease were to be used, it would collect dirt/dust debris which would cause premature wear! I was a Caterpillar mechanic and lot of the wear strips on like motor grader blades and the circle gear ring in excavators were recomended dry just because of the grease collecting dirt and dust which caused premature wear and failure of the parts!!! Its just makes since that anything with grease on it, dirt and dust debris will stick to it!!! Make your own choice but for me, I use silicon/teflon spray to coat the pin with a film that keeps it slippery yet allows nothing to stick to it!!! Just test the spray on your finger in the morning, you will feel the film still on your finger late the same night.
try the same with WD-40 and it actually evaporates with time, silicon/teflon doesn't!!!

12" poly disk and spray lithium grease on all of the moving parts. Depending on the size of the hitch, that usually determines what size poly disc to use.

I switched to the silicone spray and like it much better than the Lithium grease. You're right it doesn't build up like the Lithium.
