Main Bathroom Door will not stay closed
In our Northpoint the main bathroom door will not stay closed during travel. I have even locked it a few times just to see if that would help and sure enough when we arrive the door is wide open again. I am just worried about it banging around the entire trip and causing damage. We have been lucky so far. Any suggestions on how I keep the door closed?

Hello, same issue with my 29MV bathroom door. I put washers on the screws behind the strike plate to let the plunger go deeper. this solved my door issue while moving. Ted

Messed up I'll try again look at hinge areas your looking for.screw head marks in wood they use oval head screws the head sticking up instead of regular door hinges with a countersunk area for the countersunk screws , ours had so much tension the glass broke sending splinters all over so we had a sheet for three months until they pulled it to factory where it's been since may

You probably just need to adjust the striker plate, or drill the hole a little deeper.

On ours it was caused by two things
1) Striker plate was too far away from the door.
2) Wall was not lined up quite right causing the door to have some tension on it when closed.
I trimmed the door edge to make the door close without tension, then some shimming on the striker plate/hinges.
In general I do not recommend just closing a door and driving down the road. It could pop open at any time and then bang back and forth until you stop. On ours I bungy the door open to make sure it does not bang around.

The trailer chassis is flexing as you go down the road and the door frame is flexing along with it. Prop it open or closed with a rubber door stop and be done with it.

We had same issue...but wouldn't stay closed while we were camped...Embarrassed the kids a few times to see dad on the commode!
Adjusted the plate when we got home and it works fine now.

That was my thinking with the flexing of the frame. I like the rubber door stop idea. I will give that a try.

A little different issue and different floorplan: We put a slit open tennis ball over the knob so it won't damage anything when/if it swings when on the road. We travel with our bathroom door open so we have easier access through the whole trailer with the slide in.

Adjust the latch plate so it is closer to the door.

X2 but I recommend propping it shut. Open on our 377 and may then hit the bedroom door!

I have 2 interior doors that never open unless we want them to. I installed a magnetic catch to hold it open in case the rig is not perfectly level.

If you'd like to keep the door open while traveling, I use one of these on my bathroom and bedroom doors...works great.
