That's ok Grumpy, it was hard for me to believe how this could of been overlooked by the factory. It should of never been released for sale in the first place. Jayco really needs to re-evaluate their inspection process of units that roll off the line.

I would think they should replace your unit with another one, that does not have major issues. We bought our 2013 5th wheel in Feb. of 2014. We have had some issues, but nothing major (except repainting the front cap), and they were very good at addressing our issues. But, since they have said there was a flaw in the production, I think they would owe you a new unit in place of the one you have. Does your state have a lemon law?

Normally does not apply to RV's in any state unfortunately.

Like Grumpy said, our lemon law does not include RV's.

Unfortunately, not just Jayco, but most every manufacturer, will practically rebuild your entire unit from the floor up before they'll replace it. It is rare to see a total replacement. When we owned our Tiffin, I saw another Tiffin motorhome get 2 new sidewalls and a new roof. I'll never know how this is cost effective, but that's what most do.

I suppect that if this went to court one might easily win. This is more than a simple problem it's a major manufacturing defect. You basically received a product that was not suitable for its intended use. I'd get a consult from a lawyer, one that possibly deals in product liability. I'd do some research between now and Monday and see what you can find.

Send a message via Skype™ to BC CANUCK
Had same problem with one of my Designers. Took it in to a dealer in CA, and they said slide was too big and could not do anything and told me I would probably have to take it back to the factory. I almost freaked out as I live in Canada. Long story short, I had some work done in the RGV in Phar and told the mechanic about the slide. He adjusted it, did a great job and I never had another problem. Get your unit to someone who knows what they are doing.

Mike, like Grumpy, I to was skeptical. That said, would love to understand how they were able to "make it work" , while it traveled out of plant to dealer, and then to you.

Major Factory Error

In my humble opinion, Jayco/Amish quality is highly over rated to enhance sales.
My unit in no way has lived up to the quality I believed Jayco produced. That being said, Jayco has treated me fairly on an out of warranty front end rebuild due to concealed water damage.

As long as "... Jayco has treated me fairly ..." continues, then I'm OK knowing the other is marketing hype.

We, too, are traveling from Missouri to Michigan to pick up our trailer next month and this is my worst fear! Can I ask which dealership you used, and why this problem not caught during your PDI?

The dealer was All Seasons RV, I don't know why they did not catch this problem during the PDI, or the delivery inspection. I will say the dealership has been good about working with me and the Jayco factory on the problem.

We bought through Gillette RV, but I will make sure that this is added to my own PDI check list. I've already given the dealership fair warning, that we will be going over it with a fine tooth comb and that I will not be signing any papers until we are all in agreement that everything is kosher. My unit has a ship date of 7-6 and we're planning pick up on 7-18, so that gives them over a week to make any adjustments needed before we arrive.

All Seasons in Muskegon? HMMMMMMM

Im sorry for the problems you have encountered. I get that a used camper isn't what you paid cash for and were wanting to take your family vacation in, but im guessing that you could take that vacation in a 1972 motor home and the family really wouldn't care. Its about the time spent with them, not what you spent the time in. That time will never be replaced, those memories will never be made. Get the dealer or Jayco to put you in something while your unit is out for repairs and go make the best memories you can! Life is too short to miss out on important family gatherings...

Man, the 27.5RLTS is my #1 choice to replace my old Komfort, though in the Eagle HT line. I'll have to think long and hard about this. AZ is a =long= way from IN if a factory repair is needed.
