I tend to judge a tire by it's track record first and not it's country of origin. A cheaply made tire can come from anywhere.

Then why does GOODYEAR say " Designed for Trailer Application"?????? Go to their website, they are not listed under truck tires, they are under trailer tires.

They are RST tires.

Because most LT tires are not recommended by the manufacturer to be used on trailers. Even though they are widely used.

LT G614 RST, radial steel tires however are.

The RST does not mean radial special trailer. It is a commercial truck tire that can be used on trailers also.

Found this post dated 9/22/16, sounds like its from a Goodyear employee that works at this plant.

Goodyear has announced a new line of trailer tire called Endurance that will be made in Gadsden Alabama. Superior load-carrying capability at 87 mph (N rated) featuring the highest speed rating of any ST tire in the market. We start production of some 16 & 17 inch tires this week, not sure of what size yet. The cost will probably be more than current tire prices. We have been working on this design for most of this year and they will probably be available sometime in the near future.

What happens at 88MPH

Curious to see if the pressure ratings are the same for e loads.

I would never know!

I'll take the info on the tire over a website.

One of the biggest complaints on this, and other rv forums is ,"These tires are crap...why don't rv manufacturers put better (or American made) tires on these things?". Well, here ya go!.

Sunnybrook used to put Goodyear Wrangler LT, load range E on their fifth wheels. Up until we heard about the Endurance tire, there has not been an American made ST tire available.

Marathons were made here for a while but not now.

There is no short answer for why tires are supplied at the minimum load carrying capacity.

At 88mph the 1.21 gigawatts kicks in and you get transported to the date on the time machine. Kidding aside, we are in the process of ordering a 355MBQS, last week the dealer asked if we wanted the Maxxis option and I said yes, will be interesting to see what the trailer shows up with.

Your dealer is sure not up to date, if you look on the Jayco website at the 355MBQS this is all it shows for tires under options, nothing mentioned about Maxxis. Better check with your dealer.

MANDATORY: Goodyear Tire Option (Made in the USA) $450.00

The dealer sheets were changed sometime between Oct 5th or so and Nov 4th on the Goodyear tires. As mentioned, was also changed on Jayco's site.
