Maxxis Tires any good?

I see a lot of topics on the different Goodyear tires and how bad the rainier are and how great the saluns are. But I haven't really heard or been able to find much info about those of us who got the "upgraded 16 inch maxxis tire and wheels". Are they any good? Do I need to be looking at replacing them? They're 80psi load range e tires, and supsedly have 10 ply side walls. Just curious as I keep reading so many bad things on the other tires, any info appreciated.

Maxxis tires generally get very good reviews on RV forums unlike many of their competition. Can`t remember the last time I saw a bad review or report of a blowout on the Maxxis..

I just purchased a new Jayco with Maxxis tires and was asking the same "are they any good?" question (I had Michelin LT tires on our last 5th wheel).

My research indicates yes, Maxxis tires do have a good reputation. And unlike the trailer tires you hear so many complaints about, Maxxis tires have a 6 year warranty: Maxxis Warranty | Maxxis Tires USA

We replaced our China bombs with Maxxis on our TT back in the fall of 2014. We had very good luck with them. They were still in great condition when we sold the TT a month ago. We kept them covered, and they didn't have very many miles on them, but they were recommended to us by the tire technician, and we weren't sorry we bought them.

Our new Jayco North Point has Goodyear G-rated 14-ply tires, and I hope they do as well as the Maxxis. Of course, the 5th wheel is much heavier, so we needed a heavier-duty tire.

I put 4,000 miles on the Maxxis tires I bought for our previous TT, and couldn't tell they had any wear on them. When I sold it the new owners blew one of them, but they attributed it ti a road hazard, not the tire. I have new Carlisle Radial Trail HDs on my new rig after blowing a Ranier about 2 months after I bought it. I went to load range D, and I am a bit more comfortable with it. If I could have found the Maxxis in the size and load range, I would probably have bought them.

They have a good reputation. They aren't US made though. They are made in Singapore I believe. It's a US company.

Goodyear just started making ST tires in the US again. They are currently the only US made ST tire. I believe they are call Endurance. They have a high speed rating too, were just about every ST tire is limited to 65 mph. Jayco just starting putting them on the Eagle line as standard. My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS has them. I'm looking forward to see how they perform.

My trade trailer I put LT truck tires on it after 4 blow outs and the last one damaged the trailer. I ditched the china ST's and went US made LT Firestone Transforce HT's.

I put Bridgestone Duravis LT250's on my last 5er, and gave the 1 year old tires away.

Well, guess I feel re-asured now that y'all are saying they have a good reputation, I was beginning to think I might have to consider purchasing new ones way sooner than I wanted, but not now

Rotate tires? Rim pressure rating?

Reading all the tire posts and haven't seen any reference to rotating tires every so many miles. Any advice on this maintenance practice?

Also, our 2010 22FB (bought used 2/17) currently has (what I think to be) original GY Marathons. They look good from outside, but I don't trust running them. Got a quote from local tire dealer of $550 for a set of 4 GY Endurance (ST205 / 75 / 15) mounted & balanced. Marathons call for 50 psi, while the Endurance are 65 psi. How can I determine the rim psi rating so I can safely use them for the Endurance?

Many thanks.

Check the date codes on the tires: https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/...-of-your-tires

The rims should have a stamp somewhere on the back side stating the max pressure.

I've never rotated the tires on my trailer and don't think there is any reason to do so. Auto and truck tires need rotation due to different wear points on drive and steer locations.
