Micro Wave

Ours is a Frigidare, anyone having problems with theirs. Ours has Died, None of the keyboard or control buttons if you, prefer, work. Just wondering if that is going to be a continuing problem or are we just the lucky ones to get a bad one! Can't even turn on the light or the exaust fan, it just went dead!
I hope we just got a bad one, and it is not a frequent issue!
Thanks

judgerr

Have you checked to see if the outlet it plugs into has power?

Yes it has power. Display lights up but buttons do not function. Checked with voltmeter and have 121volts. Some times if yo unplug it and wait a bit then plug it in some buttons work for a few seconds, then it goes dead again!

Kind of off the subject, judgerr, but how do you like your V-10 Ford? I was choosing between one the same model as yours and the one I wound up with. Sometimes when I fill up and diesel is nearly a dollar more than gas I wonder if I make the right decision

We had a Dometic microwave go bad in a previous trailer. It was out of warranty so I bought an identical one from Camping World when they had a good sale price on it. That one was still working fine when we traded the trailer.

If your camper is still under warranty, I would think your dealer would replace it. If both camper and microwave are out of warranty, I would take measurements and simply replace it with the model and brand of your choice that fits the space.

O.K. Yes it is under warranty and dealer will replace it. Camper is a 2014, Just was wondering if a lot of them were failing, or we just were the lucky ones to get the lemon! I thought maybe even when replaced it would go bad again soon!

I really like my V-10! Bought it used in 2002 with only 10,000 miles on it. Only 78,000 miles on it now. It does the job pretty well a little slow in the mountains. But if you don't try to hurry it gets you to the top. A couple more gears would help a lot. Getting a lot more miles on the truck now as we are full timing and it is the only vehicle! So far only normal maintenance and I do the oil changes myself so that save a bunch! It has been a great truck.

Yes! I know, only problem is we are a little over 1,100 miles from the selling dealer. And no Jayco dealer close by. You never know how much you use a Microwave till you don't have it to use! But solved the problem for now. Went to Walmart and bought a little $49 counter top model. nice little unit that will get us by till we get home in April!
thanks for all replies, looks like no one else has a problem, so we just must be the lucky ones to get the bad one. That figures! But it could be worse!

I had to have the microwave in my 2013 26BH replaced under warranty. During our trip from San Antonio to New Hampshire this past summer the microwave intermittently heat food up. We hardly use it but when we do we needed it to work. I thought the magnetron was going bad; but apparently it was the key pad shorting out. I had an electrician at the house working on my home stove and he checked the microwave out for me (no cost-it was nice of him).
I called the dealer and had no problems getting it replaced under warranty.

We had a microwave go bad during the warranty period on a Keystone Cougar. We were several states away from our selling dealer and I had them drop ship the replacement directly to me & I replaced it myself. All I had to return was the sticker with the serial and model number on it from the faulty microwave. Most dealers are more than willing to ship you the parts and let you do the minor repairs yourself, especially if you live a long distant away.
