microwave/convection oven

Our microwave panel keeps freezing up. It can be in use and the panel will lock out and the LCD light will dim then the panel will freeze up. The only way to reset is to unplug the oven and plug it back into to use. Anyone having similar problems????

There wouldn't be a fix for it likely. Sounds like a control board issue and would need replaced...

What year is your unit?

Did you buy it new?

Is it under warranty?

Patty like I said in your cross post .. if it is under warranty (2 years) take it into Jayco dealer and it will be replaced..

We had a samsung convection microwave oven in our 2015 Pinnacle that would turn on by itself. We looked up the model number on the internet and discovered problems with this model. Some posts said the microwave would start by itself and in some cases caused a fire, even after the mother board was replaced. I did not want to risk coming back to the campsite, after the day's activities, to a smoldering pile. So I purchased a whirlpool microwave, installed it myself and asked Jayco through my dealer for reimbursement. I was pleased that they did reimburse me. The dealer was surprised. Since I installed it and the new microwave did not have the convection option, and it was on sale, It cost Jayco substantially less than replacing the original model after including the dealer's labor cost.

Samsung had a recall on some of the microwave's that were placed in campers because the they would start up for no reason. Ours started up and I checked and it was on their recall. It was an older model. I called Samsung and they sent the part to a local business for service and I took it in to get it fixed. It was the control panel that was replaced for free.

Talking about microwaves. I had a Hotpoint in the 198RD I would say improper installation by Jayco. I noticed the front brackets on the frame where broken. It was only screwed on the front what doesn't keep the unit from bouncing up during travel. I fixed the brackets and on the back installed a piece of 3/4 x 1" across so it doesn't bounce up. Isn't fun all the improvements..........
