Tom, how was the floor under the old carpet (looks really good in the pics); were there any staple or nail holes? Any issues operating the slide with the new, lower floor height with the carpet out?

I know they say it's pet-friendly carpet but I had your same problem that you mentioned, our pups got a little too friendly with it...

Mods to 377 RLBH?

Grawe

The floor underneath was in perfect condition. The carpeting is held down with a lot of staples which are fastened through the carpet. I used a putty knife to get under the edge, then used a small flat pry bar to pull it up.
Couple things to note. The carpet covers up the poor cuts on the vinyl beneath it. You may or may not have to do some patchwork to the vinyl. I had to do some vinyl repair because the slide carpet didn't cover an over cut on one end and a slice in the other. Also, you'll need to cut through the carpet along the walls. I think the carpet is stapled under the wall because I could not pull it out. The staple holes are so small that you can't see them once the staples are removed. Also, once the carpet and staples are removed, you may need to restaple the edge of the vinyl under the slide carpet.

The slide operates as normal with the carpet removed. It really gives the illusion of a bigger coach having that carpet removed.

I can post pics of all of this if you need. Good luck

Tom, that's great feedback and answers my concerns clearly. No rush but post some pics when you have time. I am not removing the carpet for a few more weeks. Thanks again!

I need some ideas guys/girls...I'm looking for something to hold the side hatch door open while using the outdoor shower/dock/hose reel area. I'm don't really want to put a strut on the door. Basically, this is because the DW wants something there to hold open that side opening hatch door while we shower off at the beach. Any ideas??

I lost ya there Danno. I need a 10-5.
All my hatches have struts and stay open on their own except the front

What about a catch like you have for the entry door? Or, if that door opens all the way, a magnetic catch.

Wait...what that can be removed and look like that? Any other noticeable corners or anything when you removed it?

Those won't work...at least I don't see how they would? That hatch opens towards the front and would block the propane tank door...plus I don't think the door will swing that wide?? See pic below for what hatch door I'm talking about.

Grawe

Here are some pics.

This is closest to the door.

Here you see my patch. Not the best but I did what I could with a scrap that I got from under the stove area. I had a "flap" of vinyl sticking up where all the water lines and wiring went through the slide floor so I cut it off to fill in the gap. I used super glue on the seams.

Here is the slice by the couch. I super glued it closed.

This edge of the vinyl will need extra staples after you've remove the carpet and the staples that hold it down.

10-4 Danno, I see you 377 guys get a different hatch on that side.

I can't see why the door wouldn't swing all the way open...flat against the propane door.
My propane door swings all the way open and tries to wrap itself around the front of the trailer in the wind. Lol.

Toms magnet idea seem like a great solution. Mount the magnet to the propane door, no?

I think I'm gonna explore the idea of the magnetic catch more. The DW is tired of that door swinging in the wind and hitting me while dumping...or at least so she says! I think it's more about wanting the door to remain open for privacy while she's showering the sand out of her bathing suit...me I could care less!! Besides...no one wants to see me doing that anyways! lol

Dan,

See if you could mount the "door stop pin" just above the propane door. Then the dangling rod on the cord reel door could secure it. Maybe?

See if this helps.

Use this kind of catch

And mount it like this

Forgive the poor photo editing

Mods to 377 RLBH?

The catch could actually go between the two doors and you wouldn't need the door stop pin

Yes, Hoojs. Looks great without that extra strip of carpet. You may or may not have exposed corners after removal. Nothing too bad though. See my previous post #611

Now you got me thinking...that doors swings and hits me all the time when I set up or dump. I may need to do this to mine.
