My F250 and HT 27.5 RKDS Totaled Coming Home From Pigeon Forge TN

Coming home from Pigeon Forge on Hwy 411 just north of Marysville TN, guy almost got us head on but went down the side of the truck and creamed the side of the trailer rupturing both LP tanks. BH and I jumped out ran. Guy that hit us spun around and front ended the car behind me with his rear bumper. Wrecker guys said both truck and RV will be totaled by the insurance company. Will come back on Monday and empty the trailer and truck. Looks like a new truck and new Jayco. Thank God no one was hurt. Think guy who hit me ran off road and then over corrected. He was in a Honda Civic. Needless to say, it was unrecognizable. Truck door hides damage to rear quarter. Rear axel and frame are bent. Rear axel is up against the rear of the wheel well.

Good thing the driver of vehicle 1 was not texting and driving other wise it could have been worse......Oh wait, that was probably the cause of it to begin with. Glad you are ok.

Great, yall are ok. Thank God for that.
Bad, material things are destroyed. That's aggravating as we've been there a few times.
Great, you get to go shopping again.
Of course that's bad if you've modded your rig like mine, really like it, and know you'd have to start over again.

Things happen for a reason. Sometimes it just takes a long time to figure out why.

It was a little more than a momentary distraction for Driver 1. Sadly, he failed a field sobriety test and was taken away in handcuffs. Made his insurance company (thank God he had insurance) very cooperative. Don't think it was alcohol either.

Glad you guys weren't hurt. Hopefully your new truck and trailer will help to put this scary incident in the past.

Glad it happened coming home, rather than leaving or in the middle of a trip.
Glad nobody was hurt.
Glad it was the OTHER guys fault and you should be 100% covered for your loss.

Now you get to figure out options and colors that you loved or hated when you order your new truck and trailer!

All that stuff can be replaced, health cannot. Hope you get back on the road ASAP and enjoy your journey.

Glad all are ok. And yep on to the bright side... A new setup!

On a side note, how did you all like Pigeon Forge TN? Where did you all stay? We spent a week there this past March and had a great time. Was sad to hear of the fires in nearby Gatlinburg also. We spent some time there as well.

ooch, glad you are fine.

Glad he has insurance. I was rear-end a couple years ago, he was drunk, and no insurance. lucky very little damage. I was supposed to have towing my canoe trailer, but at the last minute I left it at home.

Yes, sometimes you have to look on the bright side, but I'm glad that nobody was hurt or worse, so will you get the same setup?

Wow, that must of been scary. Glad everyone came through without injuries. Do you think that you will stay with the same floorplan? Just curious. Make the best of the situation and have fun shopping!

We had a great time there. Pigeon Forge was relatively unaffected by the fire and was open for business. Gattlinburg was closed but opened up on Friday, the day we left. We stayed at the Pine Mtn RV Park, right off the strip. Park is new and all the facilities (showers and restrooms) were first class. Pads were concrete and large. Water pressure was 55. Hookups were new. Cable and Wifi were outstanding. We paid around $35 a day (good sams rate). Would highly recommend.
