Need stabilizer for 23.5RBS

Does anybody know of a landing gear stabilizer that would work with a 23.5RBS. On this model the spare tire is located underneath the unit and the tire sits in between the landing gear. For now I have a redneck stabilizer (2 x 4 and 2 clamps) but the DW thinks it looks too hokey.

Did you paint the 2x4? That might help.

I don't have a HT, but I saw a picture. I just installed the Steadyfast on my 30.5 BHLT. From the looks of it, you would have a problem with that spare tire when retracting the landing gear. Not sure when extended though. Although it would be extra work, I suppose in theory you could remove the foot pad then take the entire thing off when retracting the gear. It would certainly be extra work.

To check, extend the gear then use a straight pipe or board from the rear of the footpad to the frame about 4-6" behind the landing gear. If it doesn't interfere with the spare, then that would work. Of course, you could also remove the spare tire and store it on the bumper or something, then not worry about removing the stabilizer's.

Just out of curiosity... does the 2x4's make a difference for stability?

In my experience, yes. If used front & rear they seem to get rid of nearly all the side to side wiggle. There's still a bit of front to rear but the trailer is vastly more stable with them in place. A very cost effective solution.

Yes, the 2x4 does make a big difference. I have the electric stabilizer in the back and that seems to work real well. I am thinking about relocating the spare to the rear bumper if I can not find a way to make an aftermarket stabilizer work where it is.

I am looking at the same thing with my 23.5. I have lowered and then raised the spare while holding the spare back about 2". This looks like it will allow room for the jt stabilizers Give it a try
