New 41 Ft Front Livingroom

Has anyone seen "in person" the new Jayco 41ft front living room 5th wheel. It looks like a great floor plan. The weight in the spec was 12,0000+ not bad for a unit of this size. I could not find the R values for the unit, I feel in most cases Jayco is light on their insulation, even with the Glacier Pack. I have a 2010 Eagle 322FKS, and when it gets hot or cold the a/c or the furnace barely keeps up. My 2004 Eagle was better insulated. Thought about upgrading to a 5th wheel, never towed a 5th wheel so open for comments. Could a 12,000 5th be towed with a 3/4 ton Diesel, or would need to upgrade to a 1 ton.

I would think a one ton is in order, simply due to the height weight.

There are lots of pickups that will pull a rig BUT not many do safely- It's all about pin weight- The increased capacity of a 1 ton over a 3/4 ton makes the difference between towing safely and being overloaded on the pin box and consequently on the rear springs, axles and wheels- In my opinion, you can never have too much pickup truck- We are on our 3rd 1 ton dually and will never go back to a 3/4 ton- JMHO- Good luck in your adventures!!! I saw the Front Living Room Pinnacle at the Tampa Super Show in January, it is nice.
The layout is similar to other manufacturers Front Living 5th Wheels but with the typical Pinnacle features.

It is a nice unit, but it is big and I will assure you it is not 12,000 lbs ready to go, more like 14,000 to 15,000 with options and your stuff.
The brochure weight is aproximate for the base model with 1 A/C unit, Standard 10 Cu Ft Double Door Refig and no options at all.

We have been in 100 + degree Temps in the Texas Summer and mid 20 Degree Temps in the Winter in Tennessee in our Pinnacle and never had a problem with the A/C or Heat keeping up.
We do have two A/C units for the summer and slide toppers which help with the heat on the thin slide roofs, and use the electric fireplace and a couple of small electric heaters to supplement the propane funrace during the winter. (Much cheaper on my pocketbook to use the CG's Electricity than use my Propane since we do not use metered sites)

Our Pinnacle was the longest Pinnacle in the current models until the Front Living Pinnacle came out, it is now the longest Pinnacle.

That unit has a GCWR of just under 16,000# and a hitch weight of 2,500#. The 16,000# GCWR is the maximum the RV is supposed to weigh (RV plus all of your "stuff"), but the 2,500# Hitch Weight is the weight put into the bed of the truck BEFORE any cargo is added to the RV. It's best to calculate to the maximum loads so, you will most likely need a 1 ton diesel.

The acutal hitch weight on our 35LTS Pinnacle with all our Stuff is 3,500 lbs.

That puts us in a 1 Ton DRW to safely travel with that much pin weight.

Sounds like you've got it all under control. I am amazed at how many don't.

Front living room is our favourite layout and one we would love to buy. As to a TV...go 1 ton DRW and don't look back.

We tow our Pinnacle 36REQS with a 1 ton dually, and it behaves swimmingly! Love my dually!
