Congratulations on your new Eagle and welcome to the JOF.

Your question (1/2 ton & 5th wheel) has been a hot topic in this site. I'd expect you'll hear from both sides of this discussion.

Welcome!
I'm pulling a slightly smaller version. Pulling is no issue with the truck in my signature. The issue is the weight on the pin. I'm right at the limit for total truck payload. So yes it can be done, and done quite well, but there are very few half-tons that are rated for carrying the load vs rated for pulling. Even the F-150 should have the max payload package added, above and beyond the max towing package! Not sure what other brands have available to increase their payload capacity.

I have a 2016 Eagle HT 29.5 BHDS. Ive towed it home from the dealer with my 2015 Toyota Tundra 1 time. It did great. It was fully loaded up with gear, so this Mothers day will be our maiden voyage on how it will be

I have the same unit, just picked it up few days ago. I have a F 350 long bed dually and I do not even know its behind me. Interesting to know how it works with a HT...

Should be fine as long as you keep the CCC to 2255#.
