New Building for 5er!!!

Well, after a year of clearing trees, digging stumps, leveling, and depleting my savings we now are the proud owners of a 60x50 enclosed building insulated with concrete floor.

Tonight was the first time we have been able to put the camper in there...My wife had a few laughs watching me back up and forward 50 times to get it lined up...I hope I get better at that!!

In the spring we plan to get electrical run to it with lights and 50 amp hookups for mine, my brothers, and my fathers campers.

I would live to have a building just half that size. That's the best thing you can do for that home on wheels.

That's really nice. Perfect. Your RV will last decades when stored in a facility like that. A few years ago I camped next to a guy who has a 15 year old class C built on a Dodge chassis, it looked new. He was a farmer and had stored it indoors since new and the entire family used it.

I've kept my last two campers in this building owned by a friend of mine. Wax them once a year and they always look new.

That is really nice. I am looking to the same in the next year. Looking for property as I write this. Just sold my house and in search of a several acres.

Yeah, sure thing..just let me know if you want any specific pictures of anything. We set this up so we have drains in the floor to wash them inside and we can have the slides out and still have 2-3 feet between the units :-)

I am so happy to have it in there now. Next weekend I am going to be pressure washing and waxing the camper...

I am kind of JEALOUS!!!!!!! Im putting up a Carport for Eagle this spring but it will not be that nice by a long shot. Your a lucky Man!

Thats ok, the carport still protects your unit. And not near the cost of this. It is a beautiful building and we all wish we could have something like that. Congratulations on that building and the unit. Both are beautiful. Looks like they probably split the cost three ways too. That would have sure helped in the decision making!

Very nice building. I have always told DW, next RV we have will be kept under cover. I'm currently planning to stick build a carport in the spring.

I would say yes, in a big way. A building with a 20 foot eave height is quite a tall building.

Very nice building. Ours started at 40x60 in 2002, and grew over the years. It's a series of shops / areas / apartment in one big building now. Just kept adding and adding. Somewhere around 6000 sq ft now. Total of 7 garage doors. We went all steel I-beams on that one with 18' eves with the peak somewhere around 20 or so. Very nice to be able to stand up on top of a fifth wheel, wash inside and so on. Now that it's like it is, I can't help but sit back and think dang, I wish I'd have done this or that different. Biggest thing I wish I could do to it now, that I'll never have the money for, is AC the whole thing. Too much $$.

As for the backing up, I'm one of those people that can't stand crooked things. I finally got around to painting yellow lines the full length of the RV bay with some of that parking lot paint, and that simplified it a LOT. Also put a stop block where there is no guessing how far back to go, and no flagging necessary. First time I ever backed a RV into the bay in 2003, I managed to barely bump the wall. Whoops.

I have 2 bldgs, 30x42x12 ft tall, and 30x50x10 ft tall.

Can't get my new sunset trail into either of them.The jayco would fit but the sunset trail at 11 ft 2 in. tall won't go into the 30x42. When they graded and poured the concrete it raised the floor to where my clearance is now just a little under 11 ft 2. Wasn't really even thinking about clearance at the time I paid to have the concrete poured.

So now I'm looking at a 24x36x14 ft tall bldg. Or maybe just a bldg with no sidewalls of that size, kind of a carport.

The door on the 30x42 is a tight fit to get an 8 ft wide trailer into also as it's a little less than 10 ft wide.
Come summer I may see if I can get the sunset trail in there, slowly and with an observer.

Doesn't it stink when you realize something won't fit? I'm dealing with similar, except length now. Shopping for a new full time fifth wheel, and even though the original RV bay was 45', the upstairs of the apartment part sticks out some, and I've cut my available length back. Scratching head now. New rig would be around 43', and that's doesn't allow any fudge room at all. Hind site.

For sure. I had a motorhome in the 30x42 (it was 30x50 then) when the tornado came and knocked half of the bldg down. No problem getting the travco in there.
Insurance built me a new building, I just picked something I could work on stuff and park my truck in. Then since they wouldn't pay to tear the old one down I cabled it off and then rebuilt it but 8 ft shorter.

This all happened in 2012, a camper was the farthest thing from my mind at the time, I didn't buy another one until Dec. of 2014.
