New fiver

Hi all,

We just were notified that our Eagle 28.5RLS is in and we pick it up on Thursday. Already have plans for the weekend or we would take it on the maiden voyage somewhere. We are looking forward to it.

Any words of wisdom about things to look for and check on the walk through?

Nick

If you have not done a "Walk Through" or PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection),
I would recommend taking ALOT of notes and ask them to be patient with you as you take notes. We actually took our Canon HG10 camcorder and recorded MOST of the PDI. We wanted to make sure we had recorded the some specific things such as the Fridge, Oven, Stove, Furnace, Tires and all maintance needed on the those devices.
We reviewed the video several times when I winterized it the first time.
If you are the ones that need to winterize the 5'er, you may want to take GOOD notes on the bypasses and other recommendations they have for winterizing the 5'er.
I would also ask them to start the Furnace while you are there. That way you will not have the awful smell of the furnace on your maiden voyage.
CONGRATS, GOOD LUCK and HAPPY CAMPING in you new 5'er!

Make sure the awning has plenty of clearance for the door.

Make sure that your dealer shows you where your low point drain valves are, because your unit will be winterized. Good luck

Took delivery

We picked up our trailer on Thursday. The dealer was very good about walking us through it and had done a good job of preping it for us.

At this point I don't know what "I don't know" but I feel pretty confident about using it. We have a horse traler with living quarters and much of what I learned on that rig will carry over. I wasn't organized enough to video tape it but did take notes on the stuff I felt like I might forget.

Unfortunately, we had already planned to go to Louisville this weekend to pick up a dog, so no trip with the trailer. Maybe to a local state park this weekend for the "shakedown flight".

Congrats on your 28.5RLS

Congrats to you on your new purchase. We picked ours up on Saturday. We, too, purchased the Eagle Super Lite 28.5RLS. I absolutely love it. Having owned previous RVs, I knew those "OMG, how do we do that?" questions and made a list. Some of the things that you'll need to work with in winterizing is hidden very well, but we made sure we had them all located before we left the dealership. We purchased ours from Van's RV Center in South Windsor, CT, and they were more than courteous in showing us all the ropes. We left with a new battery and two full tanks of propane. We are so ready to find the first available campground. Also, once we got it home, we opened all the windows and the top vent in the bedroom area and started the heater to get rid of that nasty burn-off smell and fumes that will embarrass you to death in a campground by setting off the smoke detector.

Have fun and if you ever have questions, please feel free to contact me. If we don't have the answer we'll be more than happy to help figure it out. We'll do the same with you. Happy Camping!!!

Thanks

Congratulations on your new purchase. We looked a long time and finally decided on the 28.5 RLS. Primarily due to Jayco reputation and the floor plan. I hope you like yours.

I appreciate the help offer. We will no doubt need it from time to time.
